that will probably wreck your sub because it's not powerfull enough...you'll probably push the sub too hard by turning up the gains to get the sub louder. that'll cause a distorted signal and that is what will blow up your sub.

get a good quality amp and sub and be done with it. I have a rule of thumb of sorts... cheap gear will cost a lot more then good gear. Meaning that cheap gear will break a lot easier/quicker then good components and will require you to replace stuff more often... costing you more in the end.

^^ what he said. I know alot of people who underpower thier subs by alot. For example i have a friend that has the amp you are talking about, most likely a dual amp, and then he has RF P2's. Throw the old amp out and go searchin. Match your sub with your amp, rms wise and if you can get ohm's try and match that also. About the best thing you can do is look into stuff, as i have found the best tool sometimes is trial and error. I've been driving for a little over a year and ive had numerous combonations or subs and amps. I'm finally settled though.

Right now i have 2 infinitys, 300 rms each approx., my rockford amp is 300rms approx. Matching is the key.

Are you planning on bridging the sub??

yes im looking to do what ever brige the sub i want to use it to its full power looking at amp now i never new they had RMS i thort it was just sub No wounder Ther sub is so low

So if my sub is 380 RMS 1300 MAX WATTS

Then is say on the box recomed power is 300 RMS continous power

So i need to look for a amp with say 360 RMS does now matter what the max watts is

Can some one tell me a good nice priced amp i can run this sub on as its very very fine

i allways thort u matched the amp 400 watt to the subs 400RMS

But its the amp RMS to the subs RMS

but i don;t understand the ohm

how much are you wanting to spend on an amp, knowing that, there are probably alot of suggestions people could give you.

pioneer, sony, fosgate, xtant, mtx, all carry amps to match, but there is a wide variation of pricing.

like suggested before stick with name brands (not boss)

check out the Infinity REF611A it shouldn't be too expensive or if you can get a 2 ohm sub (or dual 4 ohm voice coils) check out the Infinity REF311A. they aren't terribly expensive and should last you

Rule of thumb is you go slightly larger than the speaker max so prob round 400 rms but you wanna make sure of it , take it to a well recommended dealer and ask them, if they say "they will cut you a deal on this real good amp goes hard etc etc " go elsewhere. they can also get it right on because your continious power is different from your RMS power

being a noob has nothing to do with it. you want slightly more rms. walk yourself into a audio store, best buy for instance, they will most certainly point you in the right direction. you arent really taking any of our advice.

audio stores/web sites > ebay

EDIT: if your bridging it you need to be looking for the 2 ohm, if you have a 2 ohm sub atleast. At 2 ohm you get more power. for example, 400 rms @ 4 ohm --- 600 rms @ 2 ohm
