24bit Live external and Subs

Live! 24 bit external
1 Rockford Fosgate amp to power tweets/door/rear speakers
1 Rockford Fosgate amp to power 2 12 inch subs

I'm having a problem using the Live! with front/rear/sub outputs. When I use the sub output i get a very quiet bass sound. When I plug the sub amp into the front/rear port on the Live! i get a nice loud thumping bass.

SHould I use the Live! in a stereo 2 channel setup? Where would I plug the subs if the rear output goes to the rear speakers and the front output goes to the front/tweets?

Or what am I doing wrong with the Live! in 5.1 setup?

This is the final configuration part and my setup is done!

There's no reason youneed two threads for the same problem, hence these have been merged.

Some people have reported the same problem with the live series of cards and the sub output.

I have recommended this before but it doesn't always work for some for some reason.

1) In the Creative control panel Turn on CMSS and have it set to CMSS stereo. If is not set to CMSS stereo, then it will be in 5.1 surround mode which does not work well for music related content, but will sound fine for movies.

2) Make sure Bass management is turned on and adjust the slider upwards until the frequency is between 80-100Hz.

Note: Only one of the RCA jacks is for the sub, the other channel is for the center speaker.

You will still probably have to adjust the gain knob on your amplifier.

If that does not work, you can either use a line driver on the sub channel.

... or run the card in 4 channel mode and use a y-splitter off the front or rear channels. You won't have control over the sub, but it works.

ok, so sharing the audio from a rear channel in 4 channel mode will power the subs ok.. I'll play with all this goodness.

IF you go that route just turn on the low pass crossover feature on your amp then. Otherwise you will have full range sound going to your sub and it will sound too boomy and be inefficeint for your sub.
