Alpine PXE-H 650

I wonder if any one knows more about the Alpine new DSP PXE-650. If this DSP is better sounding or compareable to PXA-701. How good when it comes to competings terms. Actually this product is not available yet, but there might be some one in the USA keeping the information for himself.

please use the search function as the 650 has been discussed in at least 3 threads that I'm aware of on this forum.

problem with the old threads is just that, it's old. Alpine hasent released any more info. The PXE was originally going to be released 1st quarter 2006, then summer/august, then early 2007 after CES, now 1st quarter 2007, I expect a summer/ 2007 notice sometime soon

the pxe doesnt seem to be a replacement to the 701, so it doesnt matter. it provides different functionalities

Well, no optical inputs, so it seems that the 650 is only suitable for cars with factory installed stereos, as mr alpine already mentioned a bit on their website

The big difference between the H701 and the H650 is that the H650 uses a mic and white noise to automatically detect the interior acoustics and compensate as necessary. It's similar in this way to the Pioneer DEQ 9200 if you're familiar with that one. Alpine doesn't have the product listed on their website, though it was at one time. See this article below:

IIRC, the 701 has the same feature? Though I've never used it...

it even comes with a mic for this.
