Lexus IS350

I have a Lexus IS350 and am planning to hook up a computer in the car with a Sound Blaster PCMCIA card which has an Optical Toslink out port.
I was wondering how I could hook up the optical to my factory system.

Thanks

Nice car. I don't think the stock ISx50 has optical in. There's a jack for a 3.5mm in, right? Just use that.

You cannot connect optical to analogue without an adapter.

I know that's what you were saying. I was telling the guy that he can't use optical in to something without using a converter.

on the computer's output or the car's input?
regardless, i think your big crutch is going to be the stock stereo system. I would look into some of the dac's if i were you. you can get a great stereo signal out of the computer.

3.5mm isn't going to do anything to the quality of the audio..it's the splitter that you're going ot have to use that's going to be the issue. Monster makes a nice splitter, but I don't know what your standards are.

Search the forum for DACs.

The number of speakers your car has has literally nothing to do with A) how good ist sounds B ) what kind of port will work for it.

A 3.5mm jack will provide the same audio signal to your head unit that an RCA jack would. Believe me on this one. The issue is the cable that's used to split the signal. It's difficult to find a good cable, but as I've already stated, Monster cable makes a pretty decent one.

I wouldn't be telling you this to ruin my reputation you know.
