Navigation?

Hey guys,

I see that the frontend is really picking up. I'm wondering is there a possibility to include navigation with it? say something like roadnav?

Possible, yes.
I wouldn't advise holding ones breath for it though

In reality it's not a feature I will likely work on (beyond offering advice and assistance if needed) as i'm not interested in Nav. But that is the reason that I have the plugin support

Anything is possible. It looks like Jirka is coming along well with it in QCar.

It is a difficult project though and I would rather spend my time working on the features that I am likely to use and let other developers work on the features that they want to do.

Yep, I can confirm that. We have had a working navigation based on kml files and google maps for quite a while - including voice instructions. Tomorrow we are starting the first testing session with 3 cars and full navigation, that includes map display.

Anyway, sorry for OT - I know this is a CFE forum ;-)

CFE wouldn't be here without TatraApp, AMP, and QCar so you are more than welcome here

Roadnav works just fine on a mac. It would be nice to have it integrated with CarFrontEnd, so that there is no need to run 2 apps.

Roadnav does indeed work fine on the Mac in the U.S., at least. I've suggested this in the past, but couldn't CFE have either a transparent window that allows the use to see the nav program below it, or an always on top menu bar of some type that allows you to return to full screen?

That leaves Nav separate but visible.
