New Navigation Engine coming in next release, D6.2

just received the latest and greatest from Destinator, it's a huge improvement...

it will be included in the next release... It adds much improved routing, street names in 3D view, better rendering, the ability to add TMC and TMC Pro in the near future, and more...

just a heads up why the release is taking a little longer...

I didn't think we would migrate to it for our initial release, but Destinator has dropped all support for the D5.5 we were using and already created a Flux D6.2 compatible SDK...

We are working out a few issues and then the release will be ready to go...

I sure hope that the problem with the Greek city names has been eliminated in this new engine

I hope the Greek issue has been fixed, I have not gotten that far in the testing... The good thing is this engine is brand new and supported... The problem before was they were working on this engine and no longer supported or would fix anything for me on the old one...

So if it isn't, I can get it fixed...

The store will be finished next week for sure, but it might take a little longer than expected now to test the new D6 engine...

hopefully only a week of testing to work out issues, it's integrate almost exactly the same...

they just happened to finish the new engine and send it to me right as I was preparing to launch... It was due to me requesting the latest maps prior to launch, atleast Q4 2006 or Q1 2007... They didn't have most regions even compiled for the old engine, so I had to upgrade to sell with the latest maps...

destinator should have informed me weeks ago, but they are working hard to fix my issues after my initial testing last night and the engine is much better...

at least we will be releasing with brand new maps and a brand new engine, instead of something that was already out dated...

That sounds like a good strategy.

If you start selling with the old engine/maps, you would have to deal with a lot of unneeded support issues, slowing down development of the new complete package...
