Any comments on making the roads larger and have heavier borders on 3d view when zoomed out... The roads are so fine I can't see them
Also, and this is a biggy!
* You still need to do something with the speed at which the postcode selection window appears, on a motorway I can drive over 3 miles before the thing is ready to take postcodes... I litteraly had to wait over 3minutes before it loads
Now it may be that I am the only one with a delay this big, but if not, how are all you other fellas using it? Had it not been for music continuing to play, I'd have pressumed the PC had crashed
Like it is, its not practical/unusable for me!
Sureley there has to be a more efficient way of doing it, even if it only uses idle time after bootup to cache the list?

If you can - try and run it with a Bluetooth Serial adapter. That's what I am running it with but it should not really matter since I have proper COM ports and all connects fine with Digimoto...

this is on my future features list, to improve the initial zip code loading time...
It should only take time the first time it is loaded, then it should be fast...
I plan to run this in a background thread and it's at the top of my future features list, I just didn't have time in this release..
not sure about the font size, I will ask and look into it... You might try looking in the Skin\All folder and changing the fonts in the Font.ini file...

I don't mean the road name labels, I mean the actual size of the roads!
I can't send you a screenie as my ****ing carpc has gone AWOL this morning
When you zoom out, the roads get narrower and less 'bold' in there appearance, and if you zoom out too far, I can't even make the roads out on my Lilli
Another issue I noticed last night is that 3D view is lagging behind the cars position, and what 2D shows, by about 1second/20-40yds.
Why oh why can't the fellas at Destinator just tilt the 2D map and add sky as it has lots more detail on it!?!
All they did to improve the 3d view as far as I can see is add some sky, and the odd road name
Also 3D doesn't show roads with colour like 2D does, they all look the same
RE: Postcode delay!
So how come CF takes way longer than Destinator actually takes to populate the postcode window? And how come postcodes take longer to find than streets do? What are you doing to the postcodes which takes so long to complete?
As far as I am concerned making the NAV section fast efficient, and above all useable is one of, if not, the most important issue for me at least! What a shame we have to stick to Destinator for built in NAV. I know we can use other apps, but built-in is best IMO.

i tried this release for a few days, but i get the strange impression that CF 1.12 is slower than CF 1.11...
when i change the volume or something, it sometimes takes 2 or 3 seconds before the volume actally changes...
this is really anoying...
anyone else got this problem?

I agree about the road size, etc. I thought I'd try 3D for a bit (I have been using 2D exclusively), but now I want to change back. Funny thing is though, I can't get the view menu to come up. In fact, a lot of the buttons seem to not be working right - GPS view menu, volume up/down (the volume screen comes up, but the volume doesn't actually change), GPS zoom (neither works), and I can't seem to exit the app from the exit button on the main page (ahh, I'm stuck in CF ). Not sure if this is just me or not...

well my carPC is blue screening half way through boot up now with no usefull information on the blue message!
I can't say its been caused by CF1.12, but it has been fine for months before, and that is the only recent change!
Will investigate later on in the week

I am loving v1.12, so far it has been very stable. I am however still seeing the black bar to the right of the drop down menu. It is always present after first loading centrafuse but sometimes disapears after a return from hibernate. I can consistently get it to disappear by changing the screen resolution to anything other than what it is currently set as and then changing it back.
One other request is to add a seperate volume slider for the media. It would be nice to be able to have the music low for background music and still be able to hear the gps using the ig3 plugin.

Hi.
I’m trying out the new navigation engine and it seems that certain times there is a problem locking the GPS unit. I have a holux 213 sirfIII gps mouse that locks 8 sats in the house. This little unit works perfectly and was operating ok with the previous navigation engine. I switched to the new centrafuse 1.12 with the new nav engine and the problem came up. Some times when you enter centrafuse (1 out of 20 times) and go to navigation mode it does not see the gps unit. You have to exit the program and then re-enter for it to see the gps mouse. This happens very scarce but it does happen. If centrafuse sees the gps unit then if you switch to another screen (e.i Music) and back to Navigation then everything is ok.
I tried it out in both NMEA and SIRF mode.

I just tested cfig in 1.12 (great release by the way david) and did not have any issues, is any one else having any problems? or were you saying that it did not work with the nexus skin???
I have not updated stopwatch since rc1 i believe, so that is not likely to work.

Installed 1.12 and had a few issues.
I was able to get XM working, however, after closing a few times and switching back and forth to media, I can repeatedly cause XM to give me static. All of the song info and artist info appear, I see sat and terest signal strength, I just get static out of the speakers. To resolve this, I exited out of CF and opened frodo's satradiox app and the static was still present... so, I closed frodo's app and I went BACK into CF and open up XM and the static is gone, and all works well. I can make this to happen frequently, simply by closing the app a few times (not necc with XM active) and switching back and forth to media, etc.
I should note I am using an XMdirect on Com2.
Another problem I found was the dreaded playlist count in the CD/media sections. If I load a CD, it starts playing and has a count of 1. On occasion, if I only had one playlist in the HDD section, it won't let me click back to the HDD playlist I had loaded. It would show 1, but clicking it did nothing. Also, for a few instances, the CD would show 2 when there was only one CD loaded. Upon ejecting the CD, 1 still appeared and didn't allow you to click.

I am looking into the static with XM...
Can you try to load Centrafuse up with no playlists and come up with a set of tasks to recreate the playlist count error?
I have been trying and I cannot reproduce it... There will be a certain step that should cause this everytime if you can find it...
david
