MappPoint 2006 "not available" error
Hello,
Just installed the new 1.12 and love it! I was excited to see that MapPoint 2006 was now an option for navigation (as I already own that). I installed MapPoint, selected the MapPoint engine in CF, then rebooted. The problem is that whenever I try to select Navigation in CF, I get a message that says it is unavailable. Do I need to do anything else to make it work?

I will look into what is causing this error...
I made the MapPoint source code available to everyone in the SDK examples download...
This is to show users how to use the new features of the SDK to add new navigation engines...
I plan to do more work on the MapPoint engine, but it should be loading...
Make sure MapPoint is selected as the engine in Settings and it should load...

Getting the same error here.
It says "Not Available" both when I save the settings and when I try to launch the navigation from the main menu.

David,
Do we need to move any of the MapPoint folders into the Centrafuse directory?

You should not have too...
I will look at this in the morning and see if I can post a new MapPoint.dll to see if we can get the plugin loading...
It loads fine on my system, but I have both MapPoint NA and Europe installed... It could be some of my map version detection code causing an issue when Europe is not installed...
I will uninstall it and see if I can reproduce the issue, fix it, and post an update...

RE: Mappoint
This may not be relevant, and didn't solve my issue, but most Microsoft applications force you to open the application once and go through the EULA and activation / registration screens before you can use the API. This is also true of Office. Good thing to remember to do regardless, especially if you've just installed MapPoint.

Yeah... good point, but not the problem at least in my case. I've been using MapPoint through the CFMapPoint plugin for a while now.

Yeah, I had thought of that too, but it wasn't the issue with me either.

working on it... I was moving yesterday and today...
I plan to wrap up my first update tomorrow with a few initial fixes including this one for sure...
It was a error in the map detection code... It is failing to check if you have Europe and NA... If you install both it will work now, but I will get this fixed asap and update...

MapPoint Error
Installed MapPoint Europe 2006, and everything works peachy. Being able to use MapPoint in CF is a killer feature for me. I'll be playing around with this a lot in the next coming weeks.
Thanks for the workaround!

I think I found a solution, it fixed mine
open the config.xml in notepad and change europe to false and then close and save, it work for me
sorry forgot to say that it's the config.xml in plugins/mappoint folder

Worked for me too, though I have noticed a few things.
#1 - The GPS Info indicates 0 sats locked, and fails to show speed.
#2 - When I exit Centrafuse, I get some message asking if I want to save map info???
#3 - The map screen seems to pulsate constantly (the street names and labels disappear and reappear constantly). This may just be the screen refreshing, but it is very pronounced and appears much smoother if using the map in Mappoint.
#4 - GPS map does not switch to night mode when the skin changes to night mode (I must switch skins manually)
