PhoneControl/Other Number Pad Annoyance

Maybe it's just me, but the current number pad is very... foreign. It just isn't intuitive. A standard computer number pad or phone numberpad would be much prefered.

A minor annoyance, but something worth looking into.

What was the reasoning for the current one? I see that it is used elsewhere in the front end, but why not use a regular numpad to begin with?
