iPhone style scrolling possible?

Is there any way to get iPhone style scrolling to work within centrafuse for the library or current playlists, even the phonebook, etc?

The scrolling method is a pretty intuitive and would be easier to use in the car I'd imagine...the hold and scroll feature implemented right now is cool... but way too sensitive to be truly useful.

thoughts?

Since nobody has an iphone, why not describe this 'intuitive' scrolling method..

Let me clarify...

The iPhone has a neat seek/search function in the phone book where you click the screen and flick it down, as if you were physically pushing the menu/list downward.

Let me find a video...

Here: Watch the seek/scrolling action used in the contacts section... http://www.apple.com/iphone/phone/

Is it really that tricky to program?

that would be ALOT harder to do moving in a car than its worth.. just try holding down a button while driving over a bump and u'll see it may not be worth it.

You think its harder than the currently implemented hold and seek through the letter method? To move from the letter S to T for example, requires moving your finger a single mm or so... I can't do that in my car.

This method allows you to quickly scroll through large lists, as well as being able to hold and drag the list up or down locked to your finger. In my super bumpy practically suspensionless car, I think the iPhone method would work MUCH better than even the up/down arrows, as you have a much larger target which to keep your finger in. The up and down isnt as sensitive as you may think.

Maybe I am crazy..?

well i dont use CF so i was unaware you scrolled like that in it.. but in general, any action that requires you to keep your finger pressed and move it in the car is difficult.

This would be a brilliant feature but looks like a lot of work to integrate into CF since the architecture doesn't seem to easily allow it to be integrated.

I would consider that more useful than StreetDeck's drawing shortcut feature, since I have a huge list of music folders and scrolling through them is a whole other story.
