The error.log not having anything written to it is not an error, it means no errors happened in Centrafuse to log...

david

Well that would make sense Well then I don't think the error log would have done Scott any good prior as there weren't ever really any errors happening as far as CF was concerned.

First off, let me say there is a problem with the CF error.log. I cleared it out and started fresh as you suggested, but now it's not logging anything in there. The log file remains blank even after I played with CF for over 20 minutes.

Ok, now for the SPDIF stuff. I turned buffer mode off (It still appears that the Sat Radio settings cannot be saved, however if you cancel out of the settings page and go back in, it does appear to have saved any changes you've just made). Now it seems that switching back and forth between XM and Mp3's works. But, it still acts like Buffer mode. What I mean is that the SPDIF Playback line still isn't being touched at all. (I'm pretty sure David is still looking into this). Even with buffer mode turned off, it's still controlling the audio switching through the Record lines of Windows mixer. If I didn't need the record line of my Line-In/Mic, this wouldn't be a problem, but I do. Post #117 of this thread has the screenshots of all my Windows Mixer channels, should you need to look at them for reference.

So again, I'll have to figure out the issue with CF's error.log and get that to you asap. In the meantime, here's the XM log if it helps you with anything with the audio.

Otherwise, like I said in a previous post, the text issues are fixed... good job and thanks!

OK looked at the log, everything seems to be going the way it should. So, just to make sure, everything works for you when Buffer is ON, but you can't use the Buffer due to your MIC, so you want to have Buffer OFF. But when BUFFER is OFF, CF does not mute/unmute the SPDIF playback line properly, thus it will not ever let the XM audio through?

David, just an FYI -
It looks like evreything is good on the SatRadio end, we're calling the CF_setMixerMute() method with SDPIF as argument, just doesn't seem to be doing anything for him, if I am understanding correctly...

TIME OUT Scott and David! Something magical has happened.

So I get in the car this morning, fire up Centrafuse, and open my mixer as usual for testing purposes, and what the heck?! XM is working correctly with the SPDIF Playback line!!!!

The only explanation I can come up with is that yesterday when I changed to turning Buffer Mode OFF, CF truly did not save the settings, as I mentioned in earlier posts... but then either a reboot of the pc or maybe even just a restart of CF, DID save the settings.

XM now works exactly the way I've been wanting it to! Thanks guys!

(I do have one more test to try... I had to rush out of the car late for work today, so I did not get to test switching between XM and mp3 this morning. I'll verify that later today).

So it seems to me you guys just need to look into the issue with the settings not getting saved as normal.

Scott,

I have one final request for XM functionality. Again, on this one, I'm not sure if yours or David's area:

Right now, the only way to stop XM audio is to either switch to other media, or close Centrafuse. Well, in most circumstances, my routine is to, while listening to XM, close CF and hibernate my pc. When I return and start up CF, XM audio automatically starts since that's what was playing when I closed CF. This is actually a great feature, BUT, sometimes I want to have control of this and tell CF that I don't want any audio at all playing when I open it. Currently, the only way to do this as far as XM audio is concerned, is to switch to mp3, then stop the mp3, then close CF. In other words, there's no manual way to stop XM audio once you're in the XM module.

The solution? A simple Stop button for XM. This is what they have in SD. When I'm exiting SD, I hit the stop button first, and XM audio stops. Then when I return to SD, no audio is playing until I tell it what to do.

Easy enough to code, or no?

Scott,

Looks like there is an issue when using XM in buffered mode, and another user verified in another thread that they have it too: When listening in buffered mode, after a few minutes (maybe 3) the title bar on the top left of the screen changes to "Buffered Audio, " and it will not change back to the name of the song unless you change the channel, then change it back to the station you were on. After that, another 3 mins goes by, and same thing all over again.

I assume you need a log. I'll get you one as soon as I get back to the car.

is this with the latest 1.47? you should be able to fastforward back to live mode... this will show up if it gets behind more than 2 seconds... it should not be recording faster than it is playing...

any other users having this issue?

david

Yes it's 1.47. So what causes it to get behind like that?

david

No. It was as if pressing the FF button did nothing at all.

EDIT: In going back to reproduce the problem, this time, the Buffered Audio banner came up, but the time never changed from Live to anything else. Very odd???

that is good... hoping it was in the SatRadio or something it read from the SDK and not the actual buffer...

will look into it...

It was suggested that I post this here. I'm fairly new to the forum so, my apologies if I'm all over the place!! :-)

First bug report...hope it's not something that's been thrown around here for a while.

Running Centrafuse 1.47 (registered) using a Sirius SC-C1 and an MJS interface box (by the way, SWEET!)

Sirius works great but, for some reason, it doesn't always update the current song playing across the top. If you're in the Sirius screen, the song listings (for each channel) are accurate as Sirius reports them...it's the scrolling name across the top that doesn't always seem to update.

If you change channels, the scrolling name updates to the new song but, while doing nothing and staying on the same channel, when Sirius goes to the next song (and the song listing down below changes) the scrolling name doesn't seem to want to update.

I don't know if it's a factor but, I'm using the Onyx skin that came with it.

I'm a Carputer newbie but, I gotta say that I tried a BUNCH of front-ends before settling on who would get my money. I put the system in this weekend and Centrafuse was an absolute breeze to install and configure! Beautiful product! Thanks!
