David,

Just FYI, for my particular soundcard (Creative Audigy 2NX USB with S/PDIF input), it's not a matter of selecting a recording input in the Windows Mixer, but rather muting/unmuting a playback level in the Windows Mixer. Read on...

I am able to manually control the audio through the Windows Mixer and get audio... so if I do as you mentioned, I start the XM module, and when I get to the Windows Mixer, my input for my PCR is still muted. (as mentioned above, my PCR input mute/unmute is controlled through PLAYBACK setting of the mixer, not Recording.) If I manually unmute it by unticking the box, I can hear XM audio.

To answer your 2nd question, I have tried with the input source in CF Settings as both "None" and "Line". There is no choice there for the actual channel my PCR is plugged into on my soundcard though (S/PDIF In). Does CF only list the Recording channels of Window Mixer there? That could be the issue too. (EDIT: that's not the case either because I have a S/PDIF record level too, and that doesn't show up in CF Sat Radio settings).

All that aside, the strange thing is that I'm using the same soundcard and PCR from when I was using CF back in the days of 1.10, and I didn't have this problem then. CF always muted/unmuted my S/PDIF in level correctly. If I recall correctly, back then, I had my input source set to "None," for what it's worth

By the way, David, just so you know... my S/PDIF record line IS also selected in the Recording mixer as well. Still no audio unless I manually unmute the S/PDIF playback level.

No. Same result with Buffer mode turned off or on.

I have my sirius unit attached to my sound card through spdif connection, not line-in. Is there any way to get this to work? Apparantly it sees all the sirius stations and the songs populate, but I do not hear anything because I can't set it to see the spdif connection.

Hmm, very interesting. Seems digital connections may be causing issues?

Scott, not sure how much of the code you used from the old original XM module (I know you built the new one from the ground up) but the old module didn't have this problem. I know I've said that now 3 times, just trying to highlight it b/c I'm really excited to get back to using XM in CF.

The XM code is the same as before, just have those major bugs fixed now, as well as the Sirius support now built in. The stuff I work with though is now at the plugin level and it seems that your problem is below that, not sure how it could have worked before and not now, but with that said I am quite sure David will track this down soon as he is committed to getting the XM/Sirius module working fully, we both have put a great deal of time to get it where it is, and these last remaining issues should be solved sometime soon, no worries...

I am looking into these last couple of isses... been really busy and out of town for about a week...

there was an update to the mixer code that might have created the SPDIF problem... There was actually a bug in the older code that probably made it not change the input at all, which is why it worked for everyone with SPDIF, now that it is fixed it is switching your input...

I am looking into a few ways to fix this...

david

I will add SPDIF to the options in Settings...

Can someone having the issue take some screenshots for me?

I need a screenshot of the main Windows mixer, the Options Properties window, the mixer device drop down expanded, and both the playback and recording section of the mixer...

I will add SPDIF into the next update and it should fix the issues...

Scott/David,

Well, I see the SPDIF choice in 1.45, but now something else must be wrong. I can't tell you if the SPDIF input works because the XM module now does nothing for me. It won't load any channels at all. The channels fields just remain blank. I tried in both buffer and non-buffer mode.

Before 1.45, I had no problem getting channels to load and update, I just couldn't hear anything unless I manually unmuted the SPDIF line.

XM works fine in other front-ends right now, so it's not a hardware issue.

Thanks.
