Thread moved.
Since there's an entire subforum dedicated to Centrafuse, I'm guessing others have bought it...
jjh221 - what does a video of someone booting their CarPC up to Centrafuse have to do with purchasing Centrafuse?

Actually I would have to say let the buyer beware. I bought the XLE version and I have had a large number of problems that have not been completely address. I have had to re-install a number of times and it still does not work right. I think they will get there eventually but I have to say that I regret the $320 I paid for it. I actually had better experience in the beta than I have had since it's release.
I am looking forward to when I can get it to work right.
John

most all the reported issues have been fixed... 1.40 is a very good Beta update that should hopefully be available later this afternoon...
The official 1.5 will be out by the end of this month, which will be the update to Centrafuse since the initial commercial release...

I could not have said this better.
It's not 100% system, but it's the best you can buy today.

I don't have a problem with functionality issues, as long as I can run the program somewhat reasonably to its intended state. Some of the issues I have had, keep me from running it at all.

I'm a happy paying customer. I'm running XE (SE + phone) even though I have a Treo 650 which doesn't work with it. I'm planning on upgrading to a 750 or other newer Treo which is supported, so that's why I spent the money on the better version. I have a few minor issues with the system, none of which are related to CF. I looked at free options very closely and then evaluated the pay versions and decided to settle on the pay version because of the stability and performance.

You've been kinda' vague in this thread about what the troubles are John... Have you posted up in the Bugs thread or otherwise reported your problems?

David knows about the issues. I think in general it is a very well done application, it is just that I get very frustrated because I can't actually run a program that I paid $320 for. I understand getting the kind of results that I am during a beta, but we are no longer in beta. I have re-installed serveral times and I cleared the directorys and it still will work for a couple of days or a week and then quit. I am fairly sure it is licensing code and that makes it more frustrating. At this point I would volunteer to have my MAC address or ProcessorID hard coded into the application if it would make it work.
Give the amount of people who would rather steal an application than pay for it, I completely understand the need for the licensing code. It just sucks that I am a victom of it.
I have basically given up on CF. I was told last week that there would be a test release later that day or the next and it is a week later and still no test release. I understand that there are delays, but a its a good idea not give dates as specific as "tomorrow" when there is any chance you might not hit it. I will check with the new major builds and see if it works but since there is no refund policy I am basically out $320.
I got into using CF because I was very impressed with the install process that David had setup, letting you pick the resolution. I had a 640x480 display back then and it seemed kind of cool. I had a friend that I was helping to build a car PC and I thought that CF was a more well rounded and estetically pleasing app than the one that I had written myself and had been using for 4 years. I also thought the who plugin design was cool and I planned to write some plugins.
I have since gotten about 30% into re-writting my app with a plugin architechure and It may not be as pretty as CF, but it runs when I tell it to. I have bascially finished music playback and I will move onto XM and navigiation. It uses Windows Media Player so you get all the ratings stuff and playlist management. I added features like being able to lock to the current artist or album and play only that from that point forward.
I agree that CF is the best app available on the Mp3Car site, I just can't make it work consistently.
Thanks
John
