I just tested and it is saving for me... can you open the file:

"C:\Documents and Settings\David\Local Settings\Application Data\Centrafuse\Presets\Custom.xml", you will see the bands in the XML, the last one is 15k and it should be getting updated as you move the slider...

It looks like the NAV object is not registered anymore for some reason... Try going loading a DOS prompt by clicking start/run and type cmd, then enter.

cd "C:\Program Files\Flux Media\Centrafuse"
regsvr32 DestSDK.dll

then you can close that window and try again.

I have noticed that the entire system slow down in general use because of visuals. The visual move faster but navigation through different menu slow down.

System was faster before 1.42 update.

I tested on the same machine. I have 2.0GHZ jetway.

If i select in "media" a visual which charge processor a lot, If I go to main menu, the processor is still charged.

Do you think it is possible to "pause" visual calculation when we are not in media mode ?

It will save processor capacity and the system would be faster.

When we go back in media or go to full screen visual by keystroke, the visual calculation automaticly turn on.

Note that that I tested more visual than the one in CF package.

The CF package visuals work fine.

I also noticed this. I have to say though that the visuals are a lot better, but they have my VIA 1.3GHz CPU usage above 70% all the time compared to the 20-30% when displaying the album art only. I also noticed that my music sometimes skips when switching to another screen. I don't know if this is due to the updated audio engine or possibly a dying HD, but I never had this problem till I updated.

Since the update I'm having an issue with the cross fade of songs. When a new song starts, it is very distorted and garbled while the end of the last song finishes. I've currently got my crossfade time set at 2 seconds.

Yes one of the major disapointment of this version (1.42) is that is quitte slower, i love visualizations but i think they should stop when we are in out of the media screen.
I dont mind starting them again

I will look into the cross fading issue, and I expected some testing was needed on the visualizations...

bare with me, the visualization code was 100% re-written in this version and I have a few issues to fix...

also the two new visuals use a good bit more processor, I might remove them...

and for sure they are supposed to stop running when you are not on the screen with them visible...

I will have a 1.43 update ready by the weekend hopefully...

david

I actually really like the two new visualizations, especially the spectrum analyzer one.

I love visualization too.

It is slower like the visualization priority on processor seems higher than CF core.

Just installed 1.42 in the Bug. Random things:

Suggestions
  • Please have the installer remember where CF is installed (i.e., don't default to "c:\program files\...")

  • Please change the way scrolling works.
Right now you're generally running from the 1st character of the artist to last character of the track then jumping the display back to first and waiting on the timer. It's pretty annoying for long artist/track titles. There's no real time to absorb the end of the track name, 'specially if you're trying to write it down.

How about a banner-like scroll? So, start with the 1st char of artist, go to the last of the track, add {space}delimiter{space}, then start over with the artist, continuously scrolling all the text.

Niggles
  • The XM scroll line (top line of display) doesn't need the XM channel number and station name. With that in there, it's WAY too much text and tends to push the Artist name starting point off-screen.

Bugs
  • Installing 1.42 (upgrading from the 1.41 patch) overwrote my XM configuration and favorites list. Not a big deal, just mentioning it.
