Centrafuse 1.42 Update

Centrafuse 1.42 Beta is ready to download. The official update will be Centrafuse 1.50, which we hope to have ready this month.

This will update and install on top of Centrafuse 1.20+

Download 1.42 and install on top of your current Centrafuse installation.

http://www.fluxmedia.net/downloads/CF142.exe

Make sure you set the installation path to the location you installed Centrafuse, it will default to your "<Program Files>\Flux Media\Centrafuse" folder.

Anyone who was running 1.40 or 1.41 should upgrade to 1.42, there were some major issues fixed in 1.42.

1.42 has some major updates, the audio engine has been updated. The tag reading code has been improved as well, especially with APE tags.

The DVD now works in Vista. It also has new features under the DVD menu. You can change the audio streams, change subtitles, toggle the display mode from native to stretch mode, as well as play DVD folders from your hard drive.

The visualization code was complelty rewritten, they should move to the beat a lot better as well as move much faster. We included 3 new visuals in this update. You can download more visuals below.

Visualizations:

The latest SatRadio code is included. XM and Sirius are both fully supported in both buffered and non-buffered mode.

Check the release notes for all the fixes in 1.42.

Below is a list of the remaining issues that have been reported.

Some of your plugin settings might get reset when installing this update including Email, OBDII, SatRadio, and Weather.

There was a small DVD Vista issue that was fixed. If you downloaded the file before this post and use Vista, download the update again...

One quick question. What exaclty is the point of the Update function within Centrafuse?

Everytime theres a new version i have to reinstall it all again. Which was fine for the first while, but now its production, it is getting old fast.

you do not have to reinstall, this is runs on top of your current installation... no reinstall required...

the update function will work with the first NON Beta update 1.50 which will be out soon...

as the post says this is a Beta update and requires no reinstall...

When 1.50 is released it will be available from the Update in Tools, as well as an installer that will Upgrade your current 1.20 without having to reinstall anything to 1.50...

so this update to 1.42 does not require a reinstall, just download and run...

I updated the top of the 1.42 release notes saying you had to uninstall/reinstall, this was wrong...

You mean i'been removing my old version and re-setting everything every new version for nothing? Wow I feel inteligent now. heh.

But thats good news. Will give 1.42 a shot this evening.

Reguarding "Audio engine has been updated". What was updated exaclty? Don't suppose you looked into ASIO at all did you?

Cheers

not ASIO, just various improvements, the way the MP3 is decoded, and WMA DRM playback updates...

Which reminds me of something I've been meaning to ask..

Centrafuse has a function built in to RIP a CD locally correct? What specs does it it use to rip? Im assuming its MP3 but what switches/bitrate etc.

Personally I'd like to be able to rip to FLAC as thats what i use. The choice would be nice for future reference but that isn't high on the list right now Im sure.

GPS bug :

When you use "search" option in NAV, the destination will not be the one you will select in the results panel after search but instead, it will take the first address of the list before you hit "search" button.

For example (with FRANCE map) :

NAV
new address (city/street)
select city : MARIGNANE
Then select street : hit "search" button (in "2"). Notice the address in "1" ("Place du 11 Novembre").
In search panel : enter "maury"
The search engine find "Impasse Etienne MAURY"
Select it and press enter.

-- the destination adress is "Place du 11 Novembre"

It rips to WMA, 44100, at 192000 bitrate...

this should be a simple fix, must be pulling from the wrong list view and not the search dialog on the top, I will get this fixed asap...
