I just found some code that was increasing the start time a lot... The email plugin was causing a lot of it, but it was others as well...

the startup time will be decreased in the next update 1.46 which I plan to release later today with the WiFi fix as well, and others posted...

This is a VIA C7 1.5GHz, 1GB RAM, 7,200RPM HDD.

Boot Drive is running EWF so nothing has changed. My centrafuse and media is on D which is the only writable drive.

My system boots in under 10 seconds to windows. Then i wait 40 odd seconds for Centrafuse.

Glad to here you made some changes. I will give that a shot then report back..

I havent bothered installing 1.45 yet, but I did notice in 1.44 that the XM buffer would freak out after 10+ minutes of playing. I had it playing 'live', but after 10 min it would start to jump and I could also see the time indicator jump from live to 24:58 or something. As it stuttered, I could see the time/live display flash.

If i left XM and entered media, it would be okay, but then on occasion I would notice the regular audio exhibiting similar behavior. I didnt notice the time skip, but I could hear it stutter occasionally. Regular MP3 audio was stuttering!

And perhaps another related issue...

I dont know if I mentioned it before (along with the radio plugin being muted entirely) or if it was known, but almost everytime I resume from hibernation the buffered music is playing in the background with the media that is currently playing. When you leave media and enter XM, it would correct and play only media. However, if you left XM and messed around with any other functions in CF and then clicked back into XM, it would pause. No audio at all.

In general the 1.44 release had a lot of foundational audio/buffer issues that I noticed.

Have these been adressed in the 1.45 and 1.46 releases?

I cannot reproduce, cancel is working... does it create an error.log file?

Nice changes to the GPS skin, but sorry to see still no "Home" button.

This is for me the most commonly chosen destination, making up just under half my trips. In the new skin it's actually got further away from the front screen, with the "Favorites" directory now on page 2 of the Nav menu meaning it's even more presses than before (6 presses!)

Great work on the big speed indicator, but for me an easy to find one or two button press "Home" is the dealbreaker. Without this my spouse will not tolerate a swap from tomtom to centrafuse.

Perhaps the POI buttons could have a user defined element?

I've purchased some newer maps and the POI function works in that it will now bring up the petrol POI's when I press the fuee button, but it seems to be bring up stations and locations nearly 100km away in Brisbane. I've only had a quick play on the way to work this morning, so I'll look into it later and advise if it's still a problem.

The way in blue should have disappeared.
For information, I tried on me PC at home without GPS receiver. I will try in my car today.

I think you're pressing the 'X' that closes the direction sidebar (that shows each turn etc) that is visible when you enter a route. To cancel the route, you now need to go into Menu > Page 2 > Cancel Route

I may not have the history on carputers as most do in the forum, but I've been knocking around desktops and software since the mid 70's and you don't see this kind of customer support too often or this quickly. It's clear the people at Flux are dedicated to their product and customer base and take pride in their work. If anyone thinks I'm off the mark, feel free to check out a few other update threads.

Nice job guys.

Hi,

In Navigation, is it possible to remember the last city used? Everytime I enter an address I have to type the city (using city / street).

I am using the Brazil maps and when I click the new Gas, Food or Lodging buttons they are showing the entire POI category list (the same issue somebody else described earlier). I know that this map is not supported by you, I bought it for my PocketPC and I am using the files (the only option I have). When the button is pressed, are you loading a POI category code (number) or a POI category name? Maybe if you make it read the code or name from a .ini file, anyone can choose what POI categories they like to open in that buttons.

Btw, this frontend is fantastic, very easy to use and powerful. Good job.

I want to make sure I have things straight so I can look into this - In this situation, when gone into hibernation, Media was the audio source? And out of hibernation XM started playing when it shouldn't have been, then you went into XM and the XM in the background stopped playing? And the Media kept playing? Then clicking back into XM caused all audio sources to not work?

A couple cases...

1. Playing Media
2. computer hibernates
3. resume from hibernate (in media) and XM plays through. (both media and XM are playing)

second case.

1. Playing XM
2. click back, go to weather, windows (minimize), etc
3. go back to XM to change station and xm pauses or mutes itself (no audio playing at all now)

The problem with radio was totally unrelated it seems...

When I click on radio, there is no audio at all. All of the functions work (RDS, seek skip, etc) but there is no sound.

If I go into the windows mixer and unmute the radio line-in and mute it again, the radio will then play. However, if I leave or change stations the audio stops playing.

The stuttering I mentioned above is by far the more annoying issue... the rest of the things (minus the radio not working) have work arounds I can deal with. The stuttering just drives me crazy.

Thanks for the help.

1.45 should remember the last postal code and city that was used and auto highlight when you go back to that list...

post the details in your WCE.txt file...
