those 2 are very cool, thanks for that. there is one thing that drives me nutz though when using destinator in cf, that is the next turn indication. it always shows the distance of the trip till that turn. IE: > turn 6.3 miles. it would be so nice if instead it showed the remaining distance to the turn. don't know if that's been discussed before or if that's possible or ??? man, cf has come a long way... beautiful overall

Unless I don't understand this was just a bug in 1.45... The next turn indication should get smaller and smaller as you get closer to the turn, 6 miles, 5 miles, 1000 yards, 500 yards, etc...

The turn by turn list shows the remaining turns and there distance after the next turn, each one will move up to the next turn position and then start counting down...

this should be working in 1.46

Just an FYI, We made the Font 3 points bigger for the next turn display, it was too small...

also removed the sat icon in the top right of the map, it is not neccesary now that you can view sats by clicking the current street...

Will do...

Using another computer won't help me much as I only have the xm and radio hardware in the carpc... its not easily moved to my desktop or laptop unfortunately.

OK I'll check the XML file. After it couldn't find the usb wifi adapter the first time (hotswap between that an a usb thumbdrive) I restarted with the wifi adapter in place and CF still couldn't find it. Does XP wireless zero service need to be running? I tried with it both on and off with no luck.

I'll let you know how I go.

Exclamation Continued issues

Well David here is my expierence!

I have version 1.45 I love the GPS screen excellent work. here is my probems:

1. System loses GPS signal more and more, this never use to happen states signal to low. is this because I am using Microsoft GPS device in the rear window?

2. Studering sound in XM. when in XM the sound studers and is very choppy afer playing for a unmeasured amount of time. display goes crazy sometime says buffered audio. never happens in media

3. I get white noise from the audio in XM rather than souund sometimes.( I have to exit CF several times in order to clear this)

4. When ever I update I have problems when updating channel list in xm

5. In GPS the next turn does not count down for next turn it only list the original distance

6. I cannot delete or favorites for GPS destination

7. CF sometimes get non responsive if it has run for awhile.

during normal operations my cpu usage range from 0% to 6% which is great!

most all this should be fixed in 1.46... Nothing has changed in the GPS in relation to signal... The XM not getting channels is fixed in 1.46...

I am looking into the stutter sound in XM, it has been reported... Glad to hear music is fine in Media... Is the buffer turned on? This might be something with the buffer looping after it fills the first time, but I never hear it with Radio...

Next turn updates in 1.46...

Should be more responsive in 1.46, where was it locking up exactly?

Checking into favorites not deleting in navigation...

david

David,

the lockup almost always occurs in XM. the buffer is on. still cannot delete in 1.46.

it does repeat several times then locks up. this could be related? i think i mentioned the lost of xm does happen, and the system plays white noise static.

great work man.

I uninstalled CF entirely, deleted all of the folders, reinstalled it and updated it to 1.46.

Here is what I found...

First issue has been present before, I just didn't notice it since I was using the hqct most of the time, but... when the buffer is on the silabs unit has an echo (you can hear both the live music and the buffer) if you pause it, itll play live and not have the echo.

Going back to the issue with XM/radio and the buffer. For some reason after uninstalling and reinstalling, the XM buffer no longer works. I can get it to play without the buffer, but when the buffer is turned back on, it does nothing. I cannot pause and the sound card isn't processing anything it as I dont hear anything from the sub (no upmixxing).

Also, there still is no audio from the hqct. If I go into the windows mixer, I can unmute it and hear it just fine.

One thing to note, with my audigy LS sound card, only one input can be unmuted at a time. Meaning, when I manually go into the windows mixer (with CF open or not) and unmute aux-in (HQCT) and then try to unmute the line-in (XM) the aux-in will then mute automatically. I can mute them all, but cannot unmute more than one of them at a time.

Could this be cause for the issues I am experiencing? I still dont understand why I cannot hear the radio/HQCT at all but I don't know much about how it all should work.

I hope this helps you/I figure out what to do next...

Another thing to mention to all of those people with slow load times. I had all of the default plug-ins loading for the past few weeks. Tonight I took David's advice and removed the e-mail, OBD-II, and CAM plug ins (those I dont use), and set the nav engine to none. It started up at least 10 seconds faster with those removed!

your issue with the Silabs is normal, it uses it's own sound device and I have to update the Radio interface to support radio devices with their own sound devices, the current Silabs radio module only works in non-buffer mode...

All the other issues appear to be because of your soundcard, I will look to try and get one of these so I can actually test and reproduce these issues... It appears my mixer code is not properly controlling the audigy... Can you take screenshots of all the sections for this soundcard in the windows mixer? The properties page with the drop down expanded, the recording section, the playback section, etc...

when navigating, but in a different screen, either media, video or camera, etc. when a turn comes up the nav pops over, but then it just stays there, & you've got to click back to whatever you were before, just to have it happen again next turn.

the ultimate would be it pops over, then returns to previous screen till the next turn, is that possible?
