Uh oh, sounds like the same issue plaguing SD's solution. Are you a beta tester of CF's module? An issue with echo make's SD's phone module virtually unusable, and there is no known fix for it other than a half-duplex mode, which is horrible.

I dont own SD, but do own Phonecontrol. The issue is the mic - settings ie 0 volume on mic line in listening mode, the type of mic you have installed and if there is a mute switch.
There should be no echo with Phonecontrol if those things are done properly.

Echo Cancellation is performed by an advanced algorithm which reads both the mic signal and the current wav signal, processes them, and provides a clean mic signal, free from what it heard over the speakers. This is stack independent, and has nothing to do with bluetooth. We currently are investigating ECNR software, and plan to implement it in the future. For now though, any bluetoth solution you'll use out there over a pc, will have the echo. Unless you can manually turn on ECNR in your sound card driver, which we have seen before, when the driver is capable of using Microsoft ECNR. I have not seen any Windows bluetooth stack front ends that utilize the Microsoft ECNR, which I guess is possible bu no one has done it.

There is echo in PhoneControl due to what I mentioned above. It has nothing to do with the type of mic you are using, or the setings on that mic.

Very disappointing to hear. This is why I bailed on the SD solution. I have seen one soundcard that has echo cancellation built-in, but unfortunately, it's not the one I own, and it's not one I would ever own b/c it's not geared toward music.

Windows has support for software AEC/NS (acoustic echo cancellation/noise reduction). Unfortunately, the one that ships with Windows is not designed for automotive use, but it should still perform decently.

Been running phoco flawlessly for 2 yrs with 0 echo. I have a "push down" cut off button where my power window buttons are located in the door. Press the button down which closes the mic circuit and you can speak. Normal state leaves the circuit open that mutes any sound from the mic being regenerated back from hearing itself from the car speakers. This way the caller does not hear themselves, nor do I hear echo from the mics volume as it has been disabled.
..think walkie talkie, but one way. So the settings I am talking about do effect the echo as the mic can not hear nor the software have to decide what to cancel as I do it manually. Works great. cost 5 bucks for the button.
Watching your advancement on a phone solution, been playing with the trial, so far I like

I have the Belkin F8T013 bluetooth dongle, but the computer won't install the drivers for it. It recognizes it, but when you go to install the drivers it won't do it. I sent the first one back because of this, but still no luck on the replacement either. I've tried to install it on my home computer and work computer with the same outcome. Any suggestions? TIA!

Get rid of that thing. I had the same exact one and it comes with Broadcom drivers which not only suck to begin with, but likely won't be the stack of choice for the new CF phone solution, even though it will claim to "support" it. Go with one of the other dongles mentioned in this thread.
