touchscreen disconnecting help needed please!

Hi i wonder if anyone is able to help me. I have a problem with my touchscreen it normally works fine when booting up but once centrafuse is loaded and I start to play music the usb connection drops and doesnt allow me to use the touch screen I can hear the usb connection dropping sound and it will try to reconnect, the touchscreen sometimes re-connects for a brief moment and will drop again, could this be a dodgy usb lead? i have a 5metre usb cable running from the screen. Has anyone had this type of problem before because its driving me mad!

p.s the connection is normally fine if centrafuse isnt booted up and im just browsing XP.

Many thanks

Chris

Yeah ideally i would like to but my computer is in the rear of my car, I have some active USB cables ordered so hopefully that should fix the problem, im just confused to why the touchscreen works before centrafuse is loaded and having problems when using centrafuse.

Have you tried enabling delay startup in CF?

You said you're using a 5 meter USB cable, but the cable isn't reaching the back of the car?

This could be the problem because that would mean theres about 10 meters of cable between the computer and the screen.

Does the screen stay on when the connection drops?

yeah im using a 5 meter usb cable that plugs into a usb port on the comp. I also have a vga cable running from the screen to the computer which supplies the screen with picture. The vga works fine so theres no dropping in picture when the usb connection drops.

thanks wungun ill give the settings a try.
