Music and Video Directory

I currently have CF playing music and videos from the C drive portion of my hdd from My Music and My Videos. Recently I partitioned my hdd and moved all the music over to the partitioned portion of the drive called D: Media. In it, I have a Music and Video folder with all my media.

How do I get CF to read music and video from that part of my drive? I tried Importing but it attempts to copy the files to my C drive. Help!

Thanks..

If you set up those directories in CF (Music Folders and Video Folders in Settings), you just have to go to Tools>Library and hit Rebuild. I think this is what you are looking for.

Hello DK888,

you need to add your paths to the CF-Setup using the advanced settings.
Push several seconds the + button on your setup page.
(if there is coming the dialog for adding applications, plugins or weblinks you have activated your automated right-click in your touchkit software)

then you see in Audio/Video the paths for your music, videos and pictures...
remove the standard-folder by selecting it and touching -
after that you can add folders that you want to use.
take care of the order of adding folders. the first one will be used when importing sticks or cds ...
then save your list and CF will ask for reindexing your library ...

Skeal.. Sounds like that would work but while tinkering with CF yesterday, I somehow got the CF demo video to play then the software crashed. I keep on getting this message:

Centrafuse has encountered a user-undefined breakpoint.

A breakpoint in an application indicates a program error. After this dialog is dismissed, the application will continue running, but it may be in an unstable state.

I hit close then CF closes! So everytime I load CF, I'm getting the same error message and I cannot even use it anymore. I tried uninstalling it but it says I cannot b/c of another error. My last resort is to reinstall Windows again. Any idea how to get rid of this error message?

I have ffdshow, I tried kdlite codec and updating Windows Media Player 11 but that didn't do me any good. (I did some research and saw some other people who had similar problems)

Skeal, thanks again for your help. I'll give your method a shot once I get past this error message that constantly closes CF.

you can edit the config file in your c:\ drive ... where the user-files are stored (i don't know the exact path... especially not english )

search for the directory "Centrafuse" on c:\ and look into the files ... i think it's a xml ... there you have a line for a new installation reset ... again i don't know the exact phrase. i'll look into it tomorrow on my way to work and tell you if you haven't found it.

you can also clean your complete HDD from folders called "Centrafuse" and your registry. then it should work. then your database is also deleted

I ended up running malwarebyte to remove the malware that messed up my registry. This cleared it up and allowed me to uninstall CF and reinstall it again. Everything is running rather smooth now. Thanks for all your support and help!!
