Centrafuse 1.2 XLE, Nokia N96, PhoCo/Freefone compatability issues

Hi all, i've been having compatability issues i have Centrafuse 1.2 XLE I have everything working just right with my Nokia N96 (S60v3 OS) and a CNet BT dongle the only problems i'm having is I am unable to get PhoneControl to work with my phone nor can i find where to download Freefone from (I tried dl'ing it from freedrive but it tells me i don't have enough permisions to access that page, and that after i registered) the other problem is that i can't find a Navigator or plugin for South Africa...

Is there anybody that can help me with my problem, the GPS is not necesarily important i can live without it as i already have a Garmin Nuvi 200 but i would appreciate a phone interface that will work

Well Centrafuse 1.2 XLE well out of date so there is probably no support for it.

If you get the current Centrafuse version 2.0 it has a phone solution built in, probably based around the PhoneControl code.

OK is there perhaps another solution that i can try untill i can get Centrafuse 2 as its expensive and takes 2 lifetimes to download at 3G speeds is there perhaps an alternative frontend / phone control combo that i can try which is guaranteed to work with N96? If yes please provide links to the software

I've got a version of RR but haven't had any luck with that either and is way too code intensive to try and get my phone to work with it and judging from most of the posts here they're using Phoco or Freefone so i'm pretty much in the same boat any way, by the way has any one managed to source where to download Freefone from other then the Freedrive site as i still can't access it this is the error i keep getting...

Jetta4TDI_R, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Why is this is in the FAQs, Solutions and Tutorials forum?
It's not any of those....

LOOKING FOR THE FAQ? IT'S HERE.
You never found that link, did you? Why? It's hard to find in the NavBar across the top of the forums, amongst a lot of other crap.

TELL MP3CAR YOU WANT A LINK TO THE FAQ IN A MORE OBVIOUS, NOTICABLE LOCATION HERE.

Nope, DP is correct, you are asking a question, not providing an FAQ, Solution or a tutorial, will move to general Centrafuse.

Oh and BTW Centrafuse is really the only FE with a working phone solution and even that has had it's issues.

Getting a phone to work perfectly though a carPC is one of the Holy Grails of Carputing, which is not helped by the many different 'standards' the phone manufacturers seem to want to use.

Thanks Enforcer for the information, and forgive the snotty reply i gave the other gent I take offense when someone presumes to tell me, a grown man of 30 off like i'm a naughty kid instead of explaining to me what i did wrong and what i should have done and then still not help me, I assumed that this was the place to get the things stated in the heading...

Any way after i had posted the last time i did a bit of digging and found Freefone in the mp3Car downloads section any way just forgot to say so any who after all that it still didn't help as it did nothing but freeze with "Connecting please wait" so i gave up after fiddling for half the day as for your statement getting a phone to work is the holy grail i tend to understand why now, i'll have to wait to see if any one else can get the relatively new N96 to work on any of the phone control softwares available, hope it happens sooner rather then later, cheers any how
