Have you been happy with the quality of the maps and routing provided?

Do you have any specific comments or experiances with the current included navigation engine?

Feel free to leave your feedback here, but if you would like to provide your feedback directly to flux, a thread has also been created here on the Centrafuse forums.

I personally dont have too much of a problem with destinator in centrafuse,if they upgraded to d8 from, what i believe is D5.5, that would be much better.
Current version of Destinator is not as pretty as most others, but i find the routing in my neck of the woods with 2008 maps is ok,better than igo8, also very easy to use, if you just want to put in an adress and go there, also has no TTS which is what i need most , compared to say tom tom or garmin with their lane assist and real view i guess is getting very dated.Saddly it probably is not up to the modern and feature rich standard of what Centrafuse 3.0 promises to be.

I'm using NA centrafuse, and i'm not fond of the maps. I'm using iGuidance and it hasn't fail me so far, where there's many place that are not on the CF/Dest map. Though iGuidance embedded pretty nicely thanks to the plugin, its still feels... out of place with CF. So hopefully something better will come along in time.

OMG, you made a post on Mp3Car too, lol..... let me post here too. Maybe some will agree with me?

I have stated a few times that Flux should just drop Destinator all together and shift focus onto offering another solution like a bundle deal where you buy CF Standard, with a option to also buy the latest iGuidance with it. I am sure that FLUX can strike a deal with an online store, like Semsons.com to achieve this method. Say for example if I buy CF w/ iG 2k9, part of the money goes to Flux, and another part goes to Semsons, and we are allowed to download both. If FLUX can at least get us new maps, I would kind of be happy, but not fully because the routing would still be an issue. As far as the POI, I never use it, so I cant comment.

Reagan, has FLUX thought about a strategy, which I have mentioned above? I honestly think this Destinator issue is really going to turn alot of people away from CF3. I am having to do alot of battles over in the MP3Car forums to justify why Flux decided to keep Destinator, but even though they do understand, they turn a blind eye and are still complaining. All this complaining turns off other people that are interested in jumping into the Car PC hobby, and they end up looking into RR and even $h!+ Deck. I really really urge you guys to reconsider this move to leave it in.

PS: If CF uses the above method, CF would be $79.99 w/ iGuidance being about $89.99. That brings it to a total of 169.98. Thats a savings of about $80.02, compared to the $250.00 dollar price of CF2 with Nav. Alot of people trust iGuidance and know it will be supported. Also I heard that iG can be skinned, so I am sure people (I know I will try) to get it to make it look like it belongs in CF.

I think alot of people would like this route. Flux wouldn't have to worry about Volume licenses. Basically FLUX would buy each copy of iGuidance full price and pass it on to the customer. They wouldn't have to buy anything in advance. I am really sure this is doable, and maybe what ever site, is willing to give discounts for a certain amount of copies that Flux sells. Destinator was layed to rest by the company that made it, a long time ago, Flux needs to do the same thing for business sake.

PS: I have dealt with Semsons in the past. I think I am going to email them and see if it of any intrest to them.

Because the problem is that most people are not using a Car PC based system, unless its a full laptop mounted in the car. They don't take use car PC users that use significantly smaller screens into effect. We are not a big part of the market, so there for get no consideration. Thats why I like iGuidance, they seemed to have put some thought into the GUI and made it UMPC friendly.

I'm pretty certain that they're aware of the fact that a lot of users do not like dest. engine. Hence, I think the want to stick to dest. for a reason, whether its because of cost, or licensing issues, or whatever. They no longer limit you to use dest. anymore, so you can purchase version without maps and buy any other standalone programs, just need a bit of embedding thats all.

My understanding is that it will be fairly easy to embed also, with the new plugin.....

there are a lot of tablet pc's and handhelds out there though... but i never see anyone using them for gps. not when you can buy a $50 standalone garmin unit that works, or like most people i know they use their cellphone.

sucks either way, because our carpc's just arent complete without a good gps system.
