@ David,
All my problems on my office PC have miraculously disappeared when I burned the complete directory Dest3.1 to a CD, with the CF install files, everything worked first time :-)

Only problem is that while we're testing NM's Dest there are still some bugs in it, so occasionally it can act a little wierd, and sometimes it crashes, and so has to be re-loaded. A little reset button hidden in the window where NM-D3 embeds would be nice cause you'd only see it when you needed it.

EDIT: What I mean by reset is to reset CF back to its state pre-D3 loading.

My next problem is OT really, I seem to have killed my CarPC's HDD last night to the point where it won't even recognise it in BIOS!!!!! F***ING B***ARD!!! ARRRGGG!!

Back to the drawing board... :-(

I will be adding a check in the GPS to make sure the GPS application is loaded and embedded, if not it will re-load...

Glad it worked out for you

Embedding Destinator (unsolved) and Clean return to Centrafuse (solved)

How do you "embed" Destinator3? Centrafuse will load Destinator3, but runs it separate without any sort of a Centrafuse skin or overlay. When I exit Destinator 3, I can get back to Centrafuse but can no longer load the Destinator if I select GPS again. I guess my question is, how do I embed destinator, and how do I exit destinator to return to Centrafuse w/o unloading destinator.

My settings:

GPS Path - c:\DestinatorApps\FrontEnd\Destinator3.exe
GPS Window Name - Destinator3

To those who can't Centrafuse to reload after exiting Destinator, check that your GPS Window Name matches the name of the Destinator Window (E.g. Destinator3). Hit ctrl-alt-delete to list the current processes and get the name of the window if you are unsure what it should be called.

If the window name was correct it would embed inside CENTRAFUSE... If you are using the D3 Frontend fron Ninja the GPS window name should be

D3 Front End / Destinator 3 - [Dest3.1]

I personally haven't used destinator, but check out this thread.

Well I was having the same problem with Destinator not embedding into centrafuse - but after giving centrafuse the right name it has embedded ok.

A few questions though:
When Destinator 3 is embedded into centrafuse, and I try to enter a destination, the list of possibilies is shrunk down so I can't choose any. You can recreate this problem by trying to go and search for a POI. Tell D3 to do a POI, then choose a category. At this point it will list out possibilities, which you cant see because it's been shrunk down.... Help?

Also, any progress on the refresh mechanism? I notice that when I try to drag the map to view a different direction, it will not refresh. It does move it, because I can press a different button and it will load ok... Help again?

Other than that, I have to say that this is an AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME frontend!!!!!! PERIOD! Keep the updates coming! -Brett W

Mrbmw99 -> If you click the main title/info bar of the Centrafuse app while in GPS mode the GPS window will resize tot 'almost' full screen. That allows just enough room for the controls of Dest3...

What name did you give it, and could you post a screenshot of destinator embedded? I can't figure out if what I have is working, or not because I don't know what it should look like if it is embedded.

No. Compare my XML with your XML in your config file - I'm sure you'll find there is a difference. I am using the latest version of NM's Destinator - v1.1.0.314

Did you read the thread that I referenced above? There is a screenshot in there!

It looks like I have installed an old version of destinator.

Yes, I read the *post* you referenced above, you did not reference a thread though.

It works like a charm if you have the right version of destinator.

...

The strings D3 Front End, Destinator3 or any of the others mentioned in this thread will definitely not work because they don't appear in the window title!

Copy and paste the below and destinator will embed. Yes, even the latest beta.

Destinator 3 - [Dest3.1]
