Voice Question
OK, I finally got my system installed. Everything is working fine so far. My question is, I installed a mic above my visor, if I go to sound recorder, and record, I can hear fine on playback. When in CF, I enabled voice, but when I say commands, nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to do anything in windows XP?
Thanks
Brian

liftn: You need to install Microsoft SAPI. Vist my webiste and under the BETA click more info. There is a link to SAPI. Once installed you need to setup your voice profile and train it. Then it should work in CF.

David,
Thanks, I will try that. The front end is great I am impressed. I do have a quexstion, when I turn off my car, the previous play list is not save, is that because I didn't shut down CF first? Have any idea how much the pro versions is going to be? I will be glad to purchase and you should be rewarded for your hard work.
Thanks!!

I have a system that I plan on putting in my car and just installed the CF, I'm having a problem with the Voice commands though. First I couldn' t find a list of them. I enabled it the menu and installed the Voice software. It works fine with the training program. But appears to do nothing in the program. Like I said, I'm not sure what the commands are, but I assumed I could just speak menu items.

HostileJava: Go to my website and download the manual. The manual is a little old and out dated, but it does contain all the voice commands at the bottom of the PDF. You can also open up the "grammar.xml" in the CENTRAFUSE system folder and it will list all the commands, you can also change them from here to whatever you like... It works by setting a keyword, which is default computer. So, for example, to go to the music screen you say "computer music". From the grammar.xml file you can change the keyword and any of the others...

I don't suppose you could link me to that? I couldn't find anything on the site originally but I just went back and looked again. I figured it would be in the support or download section but didn't see it.

HostileJava: I guess your right, there is no link... It's an old manual anyway... Just open up the grammar.xml file in the system folder, this will not only show you all the voice commands, but allow you to edit them, if you want...

Hey! will there be voice control for the integrated destinator in a future release?
loving the voice control at home! any suggestions on a mic type for the car? sooo many types to choose from! (bluetooth headset? standard headset, omni-directional mic at a distance, modded standard mic, usb mics).
I like the idea of a mic from a distance (like on visor ^^^^^) but is the pick-up good with music on around mid vol and driving down the motorway?

I just installed this setup this weekend (microphone on visor). Tried it out while driving today and it works extremely well. Even with the music at moderate volume. I thought I'd have to shout at it but I don't.
I'm using a noise-cancelling microphone (logitech) and am so far quite pleased with the results.

I read the file and tried all the commands, I got it to work maybe 2 times out of about 100. I am able to use the training wizard fine and have gone through several sessions. Is there somthing I'm missing here?

not sure what the problem might be. If your profile is trained it should recognize your voice. You know you have to say the key word everytime such as:
"computer music"
"computer main menu"
"computer pause song"
and so on...

Yeah i realize that. I eventually got it working, I uninstalled and reinstalled the voice software and it started working. I dunno. Thank you for your help though.

For those that have voice enabled, does voice still work after you come out of hibernation or standby? For me, voice commands will work on a fresh boot and launch of centrafuse but after the computer goes into hibernation and back out, it doesn't respond to anything. I either have to reboot again or sometimes just restarting centrafuse restores voice.
