MP3 playback garbled
Hey,
I realize that similar issues have been discussed before, but I just came across a ****load of MP3s that I have, that are not playing properly. I realize that WMP handles MP3s differently, and I have no problem playing them back with WMP.
What happens in CF is that they appear to be "stumbling" - slowing down, speeding up, and I am hearing "bleeps" and other "artifacts". I also noticed that the play time is being completely mis-reported (eg. 40 minutes for a 3 minute MP3).
I understand that the problem is with the MP3 files themselves (I believe veetid spoke of an improper header), but what can I do to recover the MP3s (or rather, make them play properly within CF?).
Does anyone know of any good MP3-fix utilities? I've been searching, but haven't found anything that has even come close to resolving the problem.
Thanks..
Dave

Dave
please, try to re-encode your bad mp3 and see if then they play correctly, if they does then we'll find out a tool to fix without reencoding

Alright - found a simple utility called "River Past Audio Cleaner" and re-encoded a couple of the files with it. CF appears to reporting the correct song length now, but the audio is still garbled, perhaps even worse than before. Any other suggestions?
Edit: They still play fine in WMP, so I doubt the converter fux0red them any further..

Actually, I was using that to go through my collection and tag/rename everything properly, when I came across a bunch of stuff I hadn't listened to in a while, which is what tipped me off to the problem..

Right-click the link and choose "Save As". That should work.
I also just tried emailing you, but the mail bounced back undeliverable: "552 RCPT TO:<xxxxx@xxxxxx> max message size exceeded"

I've just installed centrafuse on a desktop, the result all mp3 are correctly played enven mp3 badly played in my car.
I use M10K under xp is my car.
Maybe it shoud be a driver problem?
What do you think?

Interesting. For me it's the other way around: I am experiencing the problems when playing with CF on my desktop PC, since I don't presently have a car/carputer at my disposal. Could be some sort of codec issue, perhaps..
