Centrafuse has gone really slow...

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone can help me out here. My Centrafuse installation seems to have gone stupidly slow. It loads at about the usual speed after PC boot-up, but if I then hit the music button, it takes at least 3 minutes of intense HDD activity before any music starts playing. Then if I try to change tracks the centre part of the screen (where the playlist is displayed) turnes into a white bos with a red cross through it. At that point Centrafuse becomes unusable because of some sort of system hang, although the music does continue to play.

I have tried repairing the installation using the installation package and this seemed to make no difference. I have not tried to reinstall the software yet, but I wouldn't imagine that this would help anyway.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know?

Thanks...

Your playlist might have gotten "corrupted". I just add all of my albums into one huge playlist, and it has happened a couple of times that CF starts going really slow. If I clear the playlist and create a new one it always clears the problem up.

I assume that deleting *.mpl does pretty much the same thing..?

Thanks for the advice, I'll give the suggestions a go tonight and let you know... I have created myself an Nlite installation disk, so ultimately I'll be rebuilding everything using that...

Just had chance to try it this morning, I'm in the UK don't forget and it's 9am now!! Just to let you know that uninstalling and re-installing Centrafuse seems to have resolved the problem.

Thanks for all your suggestions...
