When i had dual Displays i just had 2 frontends run on the 2 seperate desktops

You just set the second frontend to use a remote control as input and the front as a touchscreen.

Simple i did this on my MII 6000e (600mhz board) and it ran fine with gps running up the front and movies in the back.

Altho i had 2 soundcards so the people in the back used headphones.

Just use 2 frontends it solves alot of problems

My second display is a composite screen only, which makes it a bit more blurry, I run this with a nVidia card on my Epia V10000, and just use the nVidia driver to send full-screen video to the 2nd display, and then when I quit video mode on CF i have video on the composite and CF on the primary VGA. So this works just fine.

The kind of dual-screen support I would like to see in CF is, 1 a fullscreen app that shows something like this:
MP3_Title: blablabla
MP3_Album: blabla2
and 2-3 more lines of info, maybe navigational instructions.

Then I could run Full screen Navigation on the main screen, but still see the music Iīm listening to on the 2nd screen.

The other thing would be the option to start apps from the new app-menu on the secondary screen, like OBD software etc, so that I could have some software-gauges on the 2nd screen and Music/navigation on the primary.

I plan on integrated lots of multiple display features into centrafuse and things will be much smoother than using seperate frontends... I have it outputing two different sound signals using one sound card on my M10000 right now.. I enable 5.1 which turns the jacks in the rear to 3 outputs... I then use software to control what to send where... Send GPS alerts and music to the front and DVD/Video audio to the rear, which could be speakers or a headphone jack...

You can still retain your inputs by hooking up front audio connectors to the cd-in jack on the MB so the lose of line-in on the back isn't a big deal...

Basically in the future expect lots of really intuitive multiple display features...

veetid: I got my USB GPS yesterday, and got D3 running with native CF support, I can see why you wanted to rework it, it works, but some buttons are small etc :-)

The thing I noticed was that itīs actually not that hard to see the streetnames, and genereal Navigational info on my composit-screen as I was afraid of, so I would definately love to have the ability of having the Navigation running on a 2nds display and still have full CF control on the VGA (music manager etc).

The problem is off course when I want to do changes to the navigation, then you would have to move the navigation to the primary screen, and when I exit navi-mode return it to the 2nd screen for this to work. I assume most people here donīt have 2 touch screens :-)

Looking forward to see what kinda work you end up with on this dual-screen stuff :-) (and cf 1.3 :-) ).

1337ness

this will definitely scrap my idea of salvaging the mobo out of this comp since its got integrated video and no agp (unless anyone can vouch for a decent pci card which will work here.).

but 1337ness anyways. keep up the awesome work as always david.

PCI works fine. AOpen makes a low-profile PCI nVidia 5500 or something and it doesn't even need a fan.

You could also get a USB-to-TV-Out or even a "USB port-replicator with VGA" (yes, they make those).

one more question regarding your dual display setup. would it also be able to control the auio output of extra embedded apps? for example: if i added an emulator into centrafuse and had it set to the rear screen, would CF be able to also send it to just the rear speakers like the dvd/video setup? or woud this require more work or a recode of the emulator?
