Nice work veetID/eBomb. This looks awesome for a Beta release.

I see there's a lot of noise being generated by issues, bugs etc. Is there a way to put some order to this? I have found a few things already, but don't want to report them if they have already been reported by someone else. And at the same time, I don't have the time to read through pages and pages (on multiple threads?) to see if the issue already was reported...

Anyone out there have suggestions on how to deal with this? Would be ideal to have some sort of master list of issues and their current status (is there a workaround? Is it reproducible? etc) that we can easily search before creating more 'noise'.

Thanks again, the wait was worth it indeed. A painful wait, but worth it.

Can't we all just get along?

Try counting from the homepage when already listening to some other music, which is where I am when I have a musical change of heart. It´s is IMO a very lengthy and annoying process...

This is still a forum, which entitles me to an opinion :-) If you´re the only one besides ebomb that likes the design then I think they could use all the input they can get, if I´m the only one who doesn´t like the skin then too bad for me, I will have to make/use another skin.
I am not a graphic artist nor do I have any skills in that direction, but I do have an personal aestetic sence, and I think the skin is a bit cheesy looking, atleast in the environment I know it will be used in my neighborhood.

You guys just need to hug and get it over with. I love, love, love all of the feedback that you guys are giving me. I have been designing for a decade now for clients, so I have a very thick, open-minded skin. Opinions, fire away! I do not think the skin is perfect...hell, I'm designing it and I haven't even seen it on a 7" screen. I do not have a Carputer as of yet. I know...it's very sad.

But, I will have one soon (hardware vendors, I will trade product ) and when I do, this skin will soon look as crappy as 1.2 I hope seems now in comparison.

Keep up the dialogue,
Eric

Would you like some pics of it in the car day/night to get an idea for how visible the light/dark parts are in 'real life'? Or maybe a video (ie http://www.stevieg.org/file.php?file=video/carpc.wmv )

I like the look of the skin the only issue I forsee is the white parts - the can look a little washed out sometimes in the day and can be distracting at night!

SOS: I know it's not production ready... This is the first BETA release of the new version... This i the first time it's been run off my dev machines. Hold your finger down on the list and you will see letters popup on the screen... Then you can scroll down and up and jump to any location in the list... The play now functionality is still in the load button, hightlight something and click it... It will always load up and start playing whatever is highlighted...

Make sure the file ends with .lic

For some reason. the e ail systems are attaching it as .xml or .lic.xml

Rename it!

Mine was .lic not .xml - That's going through exim mail server, Outlook mail client

David:

I am offering to create a Spanish laguage file for Centrafuse (my native language is Spanish). I already gave it a shot, but found some limitations with the size of buttons (many words in Spanish are longer than the English equivalents). I think I can work around that by abbreviating a little, and also with some imagination

One thing I cannot figure out, is how to write special characters (tilde, and accentuated characters) in XML. I tried things like á and ñ but that did not seem to work.

Let me know if I can take on the project, and also any tips you may have?

yep... I just noticed that error... I replaced the font at the last minute and didn't realize it didn't support bold and when you hold down the listview it takes the mainpanel font from the page and trys to bold it... I will get this fixed... for now you can replace 'GE Drover' in your skin.xml with a font that supports bold...
