CF 2 Beta + Map Monkey 1.3

I've adjusted the 'Classic' skin of Map Monkey to match some of the new look of Centrafuse.

It's a work in progress, but will do me for the time being:

The Map Monkey skin is available for download here:

Download

and includes Paint Shop Pro 9 files if you want to finish it completely (the OSK hasn't been re-skinned yet)

You should unzip it so that the Skin.ini (and other files) inside the Zip are in this folder:
Code:
C:\DestinatorApps\Map Monkey\Skins\Centrafuse2

And launch the Map Monkey configuration to select the new skin.

Attached are my external.xml and buttonactions.xml in case anyone needs them for reference for launching Map Monkey.
Attached Files
File Type: txt external.xml.txt (2.0 KB, 276 views)
File Type: txt buttonactions.xml.txt (976 Bytes, 292 views)

I'm hoping to start some skinning on CF soon, atleast start off with some color changes.

Anybody else working on this? (not trying to hijack your thread)

I won't be able to install it otherwise. If the missus says 'this looks out of place' she'll forever hate the new version!

nice work...

Even several bug found in CF13 with this...

One of them is that MapMonkey does not close on exit! You have to kill it in the process list.
If not killed MapMonkey will start the next time with error while trying to fit the window.

That's hardly a bug that anyone would notice surely? How many people close the front end without rebooting the machine? 1.2 has spent months running on mine without exiting or a reboot/shutdown.

Yes I know, mine ran fine too for a long time... but somethimes I noticed that my GPS comm port was in conflict when phonecontrol (old 1.1 release) was loading and MapMonkey was loading.
Only way to get it solved was reboot or re-hibernate...

Or if people whan to share GPS module with several programs... then you need to be able to close them. (Yes I know there are tools out there to shere comm ports)

I just make a note of it for other people if they have such problems

Stevieg... do you have this problem too with MapMonkey and CF13 or is it my configuration?
I just want to hear your experiance...

When launching MM it works perfect... but after hibernation the GPS port comm port is always in use! It will only work again after closing MM (incl hanging process) and start it again. While in CF1.2 this works perfect (nothing is altered on the machine).

On thing I just thought of is that I use CF13 as shell and that this is causing the problem...

Does it work for you?

I don't use hibernation, so I wouldn't know. I know it works fine coming out of standby.

This looks great!!! nice! When most of the bugs are gone in CF 1.3 I will use this.

Good work!

Does anyone know why CF is hitting the floppy drive? Yes, I dont have a floppy in my car pc but I dont want i to ping my floppy all the time.

Map Monkey doesn't seem to embed properly every time I run CF. Has anyone else seen this?

How can i remove the pause/play,back and farword buttons in the mm skin?

Dont realy need those when using CF. this gives moor space for the "currunt location" and "ETA" fields!
