Problem with MapMonkey and CF1.4 hibernation

David...

Have you changed something fundamental in the code with handling COMM ports?

On CF1.2 MapMonkey works perfect when returning out of hibernation but since CF1.3 and CF1.4 this is not working anymore (GPS not found). I tried several things but all fails.
Did you do in CF1.2 some early COMM port connects or something when getting out of hibernation?
Only remedy is restarting MapMonkey or CF...

This one is breaking my head...

Anyone else this problem?

What error are you receiving? Could be a problem with mapmonkey embedded in CF... Mapmonkey didn't embed in 1.2...

sorry was a bit unclear...

It embeds perfect, but only problem is the the COMM port is blocked... "GPS not found".
I think MM tries to reconnect to the comm port but the old session is still open. But strange enough this worked in the old CF release...

what type of GPS receiver? I assume non serial... serial GPS mice usually don't have any problems on resume from hibernation...

usb-type NMEA...
but that does not explain why it worked perfect on CF1.2 and not on CF1.4...

I'll try to look for a solution...

If anyone has the same problem (or does not have this problem) please respond.

Same here only way i can get around it at the mo is by closing MM from its menu then close the app from CF's Menu and then restarting it all over again. hope it gets sorted soon

if you just hit close in the embed header in centrafuse does it not close MM?

I changed the code for closing apps in 1.4....

I think this pretty much is the same problem of embedded apps not receiving the windows resume from standby/hibernation event..

The close action as skydiver stated is a way to get MM working again.

Using the CF close button direct works too allthough I have seen this failing so that MM is still running in the process list so you can not start it anymore. But I can not re-create this action, but I have seen it 3 times since I played with CF1.3 and higher.

I think your last post is indeed the problem David.

very strange if i close it within CF it will close properly but only once the second time you try it it will come back with the still running error .

I just tested the closing button in my car and for now could not reproduce the error. Maybe after a while of driving it will... I'll keep you informed.

When i am closing MM i am geting NO error, but when i want to run it again it comes "prosses is still running" and the only way to close MM is in task manager. If i am first closing MM on exit, and then CF on close, it works
