Rebuild Library in 1.6

Do you have to rebuild the entire library in 1.6? This takes a solid 10 minutes (6500+ songs) for me

What is the difference between rebuild and import?

I have never understood this.

import is used if you add new directory of music to your computer, you can use import to add just that directory to the library...

When ripping a CD, the tag information is automatically added to the library...

I plan to build a service that monitors the directories as well...

monitoring your main MP3 directory for new additions would be a real blessing!

You a'int lyin...

My normal scenario is this..

I download a couple songs a week onto my desktop... I syn'c up wirelessly using SyncToy(http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...o/synctoy.mspx) and then i have to wait 10+ minutes for CF to rebuild my entire lib. Drives me nuts.

I am not always adding new folders. I sometimes am just adding songs to a folder in which case the import function does not help.

imho the best solution for this problem would be a file sync feature in cf wich looks for changes in specified network folders and copies all new files to the car-pc while adding them to the library as well. the check for new files shouldn't take as long as reading the tag of every single file.
i know there is the windows offline-file funktion but you can't control it from within cf and it doesn't add the tags to the lib so you have to rebuild it.
