In the new default visuals I can't tell what's going on -- the one's in 1.5 weren't as pretty, but at least they had some purpose.

I want a simple wave vis. I think visuals are pointless if you can't see the wave. In Windows Media Player, go Now Playing > Right-click the visual > Bars and Waves > Scope. <- that's what I want.

G-Force is cool because it has all the colors and smoke AND you can still see the analysis. @ RPM, I tried to embed the standalone, but for some reason it loads halfway down the panel.

First is a screenshot of the scope I was refering to, and the second shows the trouble embeding G-Force.

Thats one visual that could be done but its more important to add winamp support becuase then there are so many that could be added in. Visuals are very cool but alot of people have weak video cards. At least with winamp amp there are so many that won't bog down your machine.

I wasn't trying to embed GForce2, there is a GForce2 for Sonique. David chose a standard format: Sonique. Unfortunatly, it seems to be an old standard and I cannot find a good selection of plug-ins. WinAmp would be better just because it is currently supported. Sonique seems to be purchased by Yahoo! and the vis plug-in library seems to be no more.

Edit: The reason GForce2 for Sonique didn't work was because it is not just a single plugin file, it also needs a sub folder of files. David has some problem with relative path when running the vis plugins.

Lightbulb What about 640x480 FS viz?

David,

I think that changing the screen resolution to 640x480 (16-bit colors) just while in the full screen visualizations it will reduce a lot of processing requirements.
I have tested a Milkdrop clone for WMP and Milkdrop itself as well in my M10k. I'm sure Sonique visuals consume much more resources.
It seems that Sonique plugins did not take the best performance possible from DirectX (DirectShow). Maybe because there were less hardware acceleration available for DirectX some years ago.
Developing WMP support could be better than others because it seems to receive more support nowadays and to be current and future market standard.

Regards,
Marco

David I think you could put the whole visual thing behind you if you made it so it could use winamp visuals.

I just upgraded to an M10000 from an old laptop that got stolen from my car. Anyways, I actually preferred the old visuals rather than the new ones. The new ones look like something I used to stare at in my basement at home while smoking pot and eating brownies. The visuals in 1.5 or more stereo system like. Basic, yet informative as it represents frequencies being played.

David,

Also in response to the full-screen issue, why not just have a disclaimer when installing the program. Have it explain that the full-screen mode is only to be used when parked; make the user agree before installing. I'm not a legal expert, but I would assume this would prevent any liabilty from falling on your company if anything were to happen.

Anybody has a fix for the "Stuck in Visual mode" thing? It does it everytime on my setup and I have to use ctr-alt-del to force centrafuse to close... thanks!

Great News!!... Afterwards, I noticed that if I waited a couple of minutes, It would exit the full screen with some plug-ins, but some would still get me stuck... I can't wait for 1.7!!!

I know a lot of users would like to see support for Winamp plug-ins, but I would especially like to see support for the Advanced Visualization Studio (AVS) that comes with Winamp. This is a single plugin that allows you to make your own visualiztions and there are literally thousdands of presets out there already. Everything from crazy psychedelic to useful frequency response meters.
