CF 1.6 Destinator Dilemma

First let me say that no matter what the bugs might be/have been, I've always been a fan of CF and I've been using it steadily in my truck since 1.2. That said, I'm now in a dilemma. I really really want to use 1.6's built-in Destinator rather than fight with Streets & Trips. It doesn't seem to want to behave itself and embed for 1.6, then I can't get back and forth between it and CF without always showing the WinXP taskbar.. blah blah blah.

OK. So (David?) can we either go ahead and buy the maps through FluxMedia and just keep using them as CF moves ahead (or)

Do I spend about $130 on D3 and more on newer maps later?

Don't think I forgot to say that I love the changes in 1.6 - otherwise there'd be no dilemma...

I will not be using D3 much longer. I am in the middle of integrated a much newer version.

The best would be to wait until I get Centrafuse finished and purchase the maps from Flux Media...

The hacker in me totally agrees and I thought that might be your answer...

The user in me hates that "waiting" thing! LOL. So be it.

Any idea why MS S&T (2005 and 2006) won't embed? I've tried with and without the "&" for the amp in the window name.

I got it to embed.... but you cant use the built in application thing in CF, you have to actually open the .xml file an input a &. CF defaults all & to %amp; in the title for the built in application integrator thingy

OK, I also got it to embed by doing that, but I had to take it back out and run S&T separately because I found that when I run MSS&T after launching CF 1.6, S&T says it can't find a GPS sensor. I have to launch S&T first, start tracking and then I can launch CF, which can't happen when it's embedded.

I haven't tried removing the Destinator plugin to see if that makes a difference, but I have to assume at this point that it's the Destinator plugin that's stealing the COM port in this case. I'll try to test that tomorrow.

EDIT: Oh BTW - in looking at the external XML, I found out why the embedding didn't work through the settings screen in CF. I'll enter it as a bug.
