CUE Sheet support

I would really like support for cue sheets, as i have a lot of 'live recordings / livesets', therefore i rip them as a complete album + cue sheet, to avoid any gap between the tracks.
Seems to me, it shouldn't be too hard to get this working?
Add a 'start time' field to the library, and controls tell 'play x.mp3 at 08.43' for example.
When importing music, search for a cue file -> if found, ignore all files in that directory and read from the cue.

Crossfading doesn't do the trick for me...

Aren't those for burning cds/dvds?

Does that answer your question?

also used for that purpose as well.

But it's really easy for audio. Here's an exmaple of a cue sheet:

PERFORMER "Pink Floyd"
TITLE "Dark Side Of The Moon"
FILE "Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon.mp3" MP3
TRACK 01 AUDIO
PERFORMER "Pink Floyd"
TITLE "(A) Speak To Me (B) Breathe In The Air"
INDEX 01 00:00:33
TRACK 02 AUDIO
PERFORMER "Pink Floyd"
TITLE "On The Run"
INDEX 01 03:58:18

So you only have 1 mp3 + this *.cue file. No more anoying gaps between songs. And it saves you a lot of id3 tag info input.

Never heard of such but i definately see the 'cool' factor if you are into albums where the gap is annoying.

As for the id3 tag point.. thats more of a con than a pro. I have various artists on various tracks on the same album..

they thought of that as well, check this:

PERFORMER "Total Science"
TITLE "JAH SESSIONS (Mix-CD)"
FILE "Total Science - JAH SESSIONS (Mix-CD).mp3" MP3
TRACK 01 AUDIO
PERFORMER "Beta 2"
TITLE "ETA"
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 AUDIO
PERFORMER "Subversive Element"
TITLE "Survivor"
INDEX 01 06:06:71

btw. foobar2000 does recognise cue sheets by default, winamp has a plugin

Yep, the PhatNoise PhatBox supports them too. I would never use them personally, but it should be easy enough for David to add and I know others do make use of it. Do it!

Cue sheet support would be pretty sweet. I listen to a LOT of radio show / audio books.

Therefore, I must BUMP.

David, any thoughts on this?

I'd also be happy to see this implemented on CF.

Any progress on this? I have a lot of lossless CD rips encoded file-per-CD and CUE sheets with track information. splitting them to seperate files will make them not original anymore.
Also i would like to suggest a CDrip plugin, that can rip to wav/flac/ape and burn this file back to CD.

I have LOTS of audio with cue sheets (some people must of been living under a stone not to know of them!), and it's handy for when wanting to listen to gap-less mix cd's.
