My rearview cam is mounted in the bumper so like what bishooman said, I can see everything at bumper level. Since my mustang has those high back ends, it helps alot. Also you can see a better range than your rearview mirror. I have a wide angle lens on mine so I can see 115 degrees of vision behind my car that's a LOT more viewing space than the rearview mirror. Also my camera is night vision so I can see objects in the dark. Also I can see things through the camera that none of my mirrors can see.
