Rear channel support?

I am looking at helping someone install a carpc along with upgrading mine. I was wondering what sound cards / chipsets do you currently support for the rear channel? I know creative cards are out of the question both a live! and audigy2 nx dont work... Do you support Realtek ALC850 for rear channel? This subject has came up often but I wonder if you had a good list of cards/boards that work

It's not a matter of cards, but a matter of the driver... I plan to update the code, but originally most soundcard drivers placed the rear/sub/center controls in the playback section of the mixer... Newer versions of drivers have started to place them in their own section, which I do not currently support....

Yea if I remember you said even with your motherboard the older drivers worked but the newer ones didn't. Is there any way of figuring out of a driver set will or will not work with CF? Or is it just better on waiting on later support?
