Licence Expired (1.6)
Help me David!
I have just spend the last few hours doing everything I can to get CF running on a new motherboard. No matter how I uninstall/re-install, I always get an "Licence Expired" prompt and then it closes.
PC's History:
Everything was working good until I had some problems with the video card/monitor setup. It was outputting to the on-board LVDS port instead of the VGA port. I had to setup VNC in safe mode to fix that one. After I got it fixed, CF started having this problem.
Since then I have un/re-installed CF about 20 times with various combinations of tricks. The cleanest one involved un-installing, deleteing all instances of "Flux" or "Centrafuse" from the harddrive and registry, rebooting, re-installing, deleting the phone plug-in, re-rebooting, then running CF. I have tried that with both versions (with and w/o SAPI), and both with setting up Phone control.net and cancelling out of it. Phone setup is the only thing that happens at the end of the CF installations (it does not run CF or anything). The very first time I run it I get the "Invalid Licence", which I seem to remember may be normal, but I never get the Register/Trial window, the whole program just exits.
I have looked for an error log and there is none.
What can I do to get CF running on this PC?
EDIT: I also tried copying over the CF dir from another computer with no luck both with CF already installed and with all CF/Flux files/registry-entries deleted. That usually works without ever needing to install CF on a new windows installation.

I cannot press trial. That is the whole problem. The window with the trial button never pops-up. As soon as I hit ok on the graphical "Licence Expired" window, CF just disapears compleatly.

Move the phone plugin out of the plugins directory and into the inactiveplugins directory...

I tried both moving it and deleteing it all together.

Bump. There has to be some file in the windows folders or something in the registry that is causing this, and it has to be something that does not include "Flux" or "Centrafuse". I am positive the FluxMedia\Centrasfuse folder is in a working configuration (I tried copying it over from 2 other working configurations, both without the phone plugin).

FIXED!!!
Well, the "activate windows" timer expired the other day, so I activated it. After that I ran CF and to my surprise it finally showed the try/register prompt. It accepted my key and all is good now. Strange it was working for a while on a clean install, then randomly stopped working until after I activated windows, and now is good again!?!?!?!?!
