1.6 bug on restart?

I've had this come up once before (solved by a full reinstall) but it's happened again and I'd like to figure out what the problem is.

What SEEMS to have happened is:

-after a hard shutdown (inverter turned off due to low battery or something) with Centrafuse in mid-song, mid-playlist

-upon restart, centrafuse returns to main menu screen rather than media screen

-upon return to media screen, centrafuse has returned to the beginning of the playlist in a non-playing state

-visualization has switched from my usual (album art) to one of the animated visualizations

All of this doesn't surprise me after a crash. What bothers me is that EVERY subsequent restart exhibits the same behaviour. Next time I do a clean shutdown from within CF, it again loses its position in the playlist, and again has switched to an animated visualization (when I previously re-set it to album art before shutdown) and boots to the menu screen.

It appears that somehow in the bad shutdown, whatever file "remembers" the present status of CF at shutdown got corrupted and isn't being re-written on subsequent shutdowns. Can I kill this file (whatever it is) and fix the issue after the next shutdown?

I had the same problem a while ago and could not figure out why.
After every restart it plays the same Song and Vis.
Have to reinstall CF.

Check your error.log after you load Centrafuse. It appears it is not able to save the settings to settings.xml file, it could have been corrupted. You can check that file and see if you can open it and that it's valid XML by dragging into the browser.

If it is corrupted you should be able to delete that file and go to control panel add remove programs. Their you can run a repair on Centrafuse, which will essentially just copy this file back. Then your settings should save.
