Maybe this is caused by the same bug:
I added an external apps and entered the window title, it showed up just as entered but cf didn't find the window so I checked the xml file and there where two spaces in the title where just one had to be. after editing this in the xml file everything worked.

My pc has this same problems with the music list at startup on centrafuse. I had to put in a fresh install of win xp the day centrafuse rc1 was released cos my old hdd decieded to corrupt that day
Anyway i installed the new centrafuse and it didn't start the music automatacally instead it shows a "Loading" box which only disapeared when i clicked on any button. I had to reformat the computer again 2 days ago from other problems, and when i reinstalled centrafuse it worked up till yesterday and is now not loading the music at startup. I have tried doing a repair on centrafuse through the add and remove programs in control panel but that didn't work. I have included the error log file.
If it is any more help i run centrafuse as a shell and i am running a VIA SP13000 Motherboard, Geil 1Gb memory, Seagate 400Gb Sata hdd, Globalsat BU353 gps, Pioneer Slot DVDR and a DSATX 220w Power Supply

As I posted on another thread, I am having the exact same problem that jake above described: At startup I get the LOADING message, and can only be dismissed by clicking anywhere on the screen -- and then I get an empty playlist.

I guess that means music won't start automatically at startup till rc2 is released??

I don't think it zipped properly, since all the files had the same name. I did not see the config.xml from the system folder in the file, it was nothing but the same plugin config.xml over and over...
I mainly just need you to zip up the XML files in the System sub folder, that is all... The issue described has to be in one of those files, the others are not neccesary...
If anyone having the corruption issue right now can zip up the System subfolder and post it, it would help a lot...

With all the problems caused by corrupted XMLs I would think that by this time you would have implemented some sort of redundant backup for all the XML files... wouldn't it be a relatively simple matter for CF to check the validity of the XMLs before attempting to load them, and in the event of an invalid file, to replace it with a "last known good" configuration?

The solution is the XML's should never get corrupted and I'm working towards that... I encode all the values and limit what can be entered into them... I'm just looking for the corrupted XML file so I can see where I missed something...
Also not sure why a application repair in control panel does not put back the original XML files, it should...
Basically it's something that should never happen and will never happen once I figure why it's happening

FYI: I never get a loading box that wont disappear as others describe and all my XMLs are fine. If I was on the Media screen when I shutdown everything is always fine. However, if I shutdown on main-menu or iG3, there is about a 50% chance that when I start up CF will not be playing music and all of my lists will be unloaded. All I have to do is go to media and load a new list to fix it.
Also, once in a while (very rare) if I switch to iG3 the music will stop playing and it will start again as soon as I switch away (this has not happened since I switched to Nexus skin, but it did happen a few times when RC1 first came out when using the either of the 2 day skins [I never used the night skins after first run]). I have never told iG3 to pause the music in the config and exiting/restarting CF fixed it. It's like your XML reader just interprets Pause=False as true sometimes.

The pause issue was a bug and it's been fixed and listed on the fixed issues...
