Big Problem with CF 1.7

Hi David,

i have the following prob:

a few days ago CF sometimes starts with a blank Musiklist, and i have to load it manually. Now CF everytime starts with the setup dialog like the first time after installation. If i configure it and hit ok CF starts with the main screen, but all buttons are blank and dont respond on any action. What could be the problem? It runs one week without broblems and now nothing works. Allready made a new installation but nothing changes.

are you using a different language file than English?... If so try to revert to English and see if that helps...

Mine kept doing the same thing and the only language I know how to speak is english. I just gave up on cf. Not enough releases and updates and the releases are always buggy. I'll stick with RR.

OMG. This JUST HAPPENED TO ME NOW! I can no longer use CF. Darnit!

This generally just means it could not read one of the config XML files, usually because somehow the XML file got corrupted or somehow allowed invald XML data to be placed inside it...

drag all your XML files under system into IE, or any browser, and see if they are still valid XML... The one that doesn't show up is the one causing the problem...

It can also be a skin.xml file from the main application, or any of the plugins, and/or a language XML file...

The error.log file might help let you know....

you can always do a repair under control panel to go back to the original XML files...

REPAIR did not help.

I had to remove and re-install, and only then did it work.

I DID HOWEVER LOSE ALL MY CUSTOM SKIN FILES. WARNING TO OTHERS!!!

Yep that is what I had to do as well. GIGANTIC BUG THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED.

I need help on reproducing the problem... I can't...

I need to know what you all are changing that is causing it to crash like this... If someone can give me the steps to reproduce, then I will get it fixed asap...

I had managed to save the LOG file that was generated after the problem occured. Attached!

ok sounds good but I didn't really change much just add iguidance to it. Did it the first time I set it up.

Looks like the config.xml, or possibly another one, is getting mailformed... If someone can reproduce it and then zip up all the XML files so I can see which one got messed up...

then I can prevent it...

Hi all,

im unable to reproduce it. It works one week and i did not change anything.
It begins with a blank musiklist and so on. could it be a problem with a uncomplete shotdown-sequence or so?

My External.xml file seems to gets corrupted when I add external apps, strange thing is it doesn't happen every time

This too casuses botton text to disappear
