You'll probably run into the problem with caching like I did.

I didn't run into that problem but I haven't had much more time to invest. It does work if the wavs timestamps change. All I got to do now is send some keys to front ends.

Cool stuff... subscribing! Please post a link to the plug-in thread here once there is one.
One comment about pause though... in my car both iG2 and iG3 lower the volume quite a bit when directions are spoken. Is it like this for others too? I don't know if iG does it on purpose, or if my sound-card just has trouble playing 2 things at the same time, or something else. All I know is most people seem to act like this does not happen on their setup. I love the way it works in my car and I would never want it to pause while speaking... just lowering the music volume is the way it should be (and the way it is for me).

Mine lowers also, I thought it was just wishful thinking with the UMPC version, but since you mentioned it, I guess maybe it is ACTUALLY true. It lowers the music volume, I would say it lowers it about 40 percent.

Cool, so I'm not the only one. I could swear iG2 used to do that as well. Anyway, I like it just how it is. Pause is ugly. If I'm singing along with a tune, I don't want nav directions to throw me off-beat

Check the VOLUME option inside IG3. I bet you have it set to 60% or so... what this does, is lower the computer's main volume to whatever you set it to. It will lower EVERYTHING. That's the problem.
Your music volume will lower by 60%, but the lady's voice volume is also lowered by 60%, so net effect, everything is at the same volume. No big win here.
That's why someone hacked the volume wav files and increased them by 50% or so. If you use those files, and set the IG3 volume to 60% (for example), then everything will lower including music and voice, but the voice was already amplified, so it ends up playing at roughly the original volume... get it?

Now it makes sense . The default voice (at default volume setting) is plenty loud for me though, and the music is muted to a good level as well.
