Feature Request: More info in music status bar

I'm not sure if this is doable already by changing the skin itself, but I would like to be able to see more info about the music being played, other than the codec and the current playtime. Maybe adding bitrate and the ability to change to playtime/total time or playtime remaining, etc. Also, I'd like to be able to change what information is displayed about each track rather than just Artist - Song Title or however it is formatted at the moment. Again, is this stuff changable in the skin or hardcoded?

yeah i had thought about maybe adding the album name in the track info and the options to have track time remaining or maybe even a track progress bar...

if you click on the track time it toggles to remaining time.

Not possible with skin changes.

I agree there is quite a bit of unused space to the right of the 'MP3' text on the title bar... not sure what would make sense to have there though. Can't imagine that a bunch of ID3 tags would make sense up there.

There's a bit of information you could put in there, like maybe including the track number - i.e. 1/12 or 8/15 or something. Also, you could maybe put the band name (or album or whatever you choose) in the lower part and put only the song name in the upper part so it doesn't have to scroll as often. Also, I would like a way to make the text smaller on that top part because it is pretty big as it is and I would rather it be smaller and fit more information without scrolling as much, but THAT might be having to do with the skin, I'm not sure.

My suggestion in another thread was to put a km "countdown" to the next turn/change in route in the second line, then you could always what when to move your attention to the driving.....

I think the things that should definitely be added to the info bar at the top are:

-File type (MP3/OGG etc, already there)
-Time (already there)
-Mode: Random etc... it is gone now that there is a button. Would love the text up there just to know what mode I am in, when the bottom bar is not visible...
-Track number: 1/15 or whatever. Definitely needed!
-Band name. Would rather have it removed from the top header, and have a separate line item alongside the time etc... leaves more space for song name at the top. And more space for Band name too

I couldn't agree with you more - or at least make some of these changes available to change for skinning. I would like to make a skin that would have the song name go all the way across the screen at the top and get rid of the menu, so I could have more info up there.
