centrafuse problems when using minlogon

I just installed centrafuse RC5 and i am having a problem with it. If i am logged in as default user (using minlogon) then when i click on Centrafuse it acts as if it is the first time i have started it and asks me to set it up. The settings are the same as the way i had them before, but it asks me to go through the set up again each time i start centrafuse. Also, once i go through the settings, all the buttons and the menu are blank, and clicking them doesn't do anything

If i switch back to normal winlogon and log in as the administrator then i don't have either of these problem. I have tried installing centrafuse as the administrator, then using minlogon, and i have also tried installing centrafuse as the default user. It's the same problem either way i do it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Sean

yes i do have an nlite OS install. Is this a known problem? i hadn't read anything about it yet. i am suprised to hear that no one is running an nlite OS with minlogon and centrafuse. would it make a difference if i made centrafuse my shell since that is what i was planning on doing?

thanks,
sean

I'm using nlted XP Pro Sp2 using the settings in post #28 from here.
(for speech recognition enable Media\Speech and System\CTF in the .ini file)

When using minlogon.exe and CF as shell
merge this reg file:

Quote:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
"Config"=dword:00000007

Rather than:
Quote:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
"Config"=dword:00000017

This prevents the selected shell (CF) trying to restart when you shutdown.

Regarding your troubles with CF and blank buttons, I had the same thing if I installed without 1st uninstalling the previous version.

spudgunblunder, thanks for the registry info, i will change that value. This is a fresh nlite XP install, and there was no prior installation of centrafuse, so i know that isn't the problem with the buttons. Are you using minlogon?

hari-bhari, where did you read that this was a known problem? would you mind linking the thread so i can read some more information?

has anyone else out there gotten minlogon to work with centrafuse in nlite XP?

thanks,
sean

The nlite settings i used were almost the same as the ones you used. I was using post #28 from that thread as well. I used the newest version of nlite, so a couple of things changed, but not much. Before i started reconfiguring my nlite OS and reinstalling i wanted to get more information to find out if it has anything to do with nlite at all.

I do appreciate the responses. Anyone else had this problem, or is anyone else using nlite, minlogon, and centrafuse successfully?

thanks,
sean

sorry dont know where the post is, but there was a lengthy discussion about this earlier in a thread in the CF section, try running a search. i too have nlite and i couldnt get minlogon to work, so i gave up. i figure if using CF as a shell, and nlite with all unecessary services stopped, it wont make a huge difference. i hardly saw any actually when booting up windows.

Thanks hari-bhari, i will try looking for that thread again.

Update:
Success!!

The information from post #9 on this thread http://forums.fluxmedia.net/showthre...=4237#post4237 solved it for me. Basically you have to set your TEMP and TMP to point to C:\TEMP instead of what they are set to. Now i have nlite working with minlogon and centrafuse.

Thank you guys for the information.
