yeah, hurry
no, really, are you just acting like that? or do you really not get it?
david has been developping for 3 years, without any payment. he invested 3 years, now it's time to get those 3 years back. next year he will be getting money from sales, so it won't get more pricy... maybe CF will sell so good that david can lower the price... who knows...
just some clear thinking would have brought you here too

I was already a member, but didn't get the coupon code. I sent an email to support a few days ago to get a new one and haven't gotten a reply yet? Fluxmedia just really backed up at the moment or am i missing something?
Thanks,
Sean Egger

sorry that was wrong...
there is one: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/linu...ng-engine.html
Oh this is for Linux ! but as it is open source noone stops you from porting to Windows... and it reads very several (cheap!) mapformats...

Honestly its not bad in price. Street Deck is what $200 with a crappy nav program. Destinator is nice, I've just recently had bad luck with my gps mouse but I think I may have that licked. $300 for a front end that does everything and has a nav program built around it is wonderful, it all interacts flawlessly and is very upgradeable. I imagine that as purchasers of the software come up with new requests they will be filled in a timely fashion and new plug ins will become available as more people buy the software. Besides, I'm sure updates will be cheaper than the total price and who doesn't buy new things every year or so anyways especially if they provide major improvements with every subsequent release.

~150 Bucks for Destinator (CF)
~100 Bucks for MapPoint (without Routing capability, Streetdeck or CF)
or
10-30 Bucks for "Marco Polo Reiseplaner" Maps
a "small" difference
(I bet there are similiar map formats for US available!)
Okay I must state that I can afford to buy a Destinator Map for 150...
but if I want to give traffic jams from my radio (HQCT,...) to Destinator for routecalculation then I should do this not too public...
or if I want to get informed (while I am listening to my media and I am currently in media not in nav-mode) if I pass certain "POI's" ("free" photos! ) than It could be added to Navit ...
Means: Destinator and MapPoints SDK is crap.
What about stopping to buy Destinator and donating 30 Bucks to the Navit team ?

We are working with Destinator to improve the SDK regularly... I am adding support for TMC as one of the next improvements, among other things...
I am also working with the HQCT developer to get the TMC data to pass directly into Destinator...

Destinator 7 might convince me to part with some cash
For me, Nav & Music are THE most important aspects of a CarPC, current D6 Nav is lets say, lagging behind the competition a little and its 3D view is too basic and slow. POI support sucks, and its a PITA to skin.
And like I said before, it wouldn't matter to me if Flux had spent $30,000,000 and 10 years developing CF, there is a point were the price is too much and puts people off...
And Im put off!

Nono don't get me wrong
The DestinatorSDK is okay (and leading the market) and Flux should continue with Destinator IMHO - the Problem is Navteq they need a very hard kick in their butt - and an OpenSource Navigation using different MapFormats or their SDAL Format is a kick for them (and they can't stop that ... in Germany for sure).
If CF was in the beginning I would say contact the NavIT project and go this route as a big sponsor.
Destinator's SDK is... yeah okay... but not "WOW" !
Example:
To get the Data into Destinator there should be a seperate Object "TMC" this seperate Object should (mainly) have an Event
Code:
NewTMCmessage(ByVal _LocID As Short, ByVal _EventID As Short, ByVal _Extent As Byte, ByVal _Dir As Boolean, ByVal _Diversion As TriState, ByVal _Duration As Byte)
This event is fired by the object if a new TMC message arrived - now this object should be placed in a seperate Assembly - Inside this object is per default the handling with gpstmc.dll (for the GPS/TMC mice).
For the Centrafuse-usage this object inside its assembly needs to be replaced by you...
(the (PDA) community could rewrite this object for Royalteks GPS/TMC mice)
