Centrafuse pricing

I hate to nag, but david, you said on 1/31 that pricing would be up within 30 days. If I can't afford CF i don't want to waste my time trying to make it work for me. I'm not tryng to be rude, but at least some sort of ballpark estimate per version..........PLEASE!!!!

It's coming I promise... We are working on the SWF object now... I had the new SWF that allowed me to pass in the prices up briefly yesterday for testing, but it had some issues...

working to update the flash file and will have it posted very soon, before CeBit...

note: also remember though if you are a registered user at Flux you will be able to use a coupon code we will issue for the entire first month we sell the product, for all the help testing...

Guys, please.

I'm sure you'll understand that if he is preparing for an exhibition, David is going to ba absolutley flat out busy. He promised the figures prior to CeBit and I'm sure he will deliver.

I'm hanging out to hear what we're up for as well, but we've only got to wait a couple more days...

I'm trying... I should know better than to post dates

I'm busy with the application and getting demo units ready, as well as get an update ready to test the new updater...

I have to then open up the flash files and update the site...

It will/should happen next week hopefully...

Prices

I'm very happy to see the prices up, and they look very reasonable.

I'm just curious of two things. If we already have (and can prove we have) a phoco licence can we save the $25 (we already paid)? Also, if we already purchased the maps do we need to buy them again, or can we just copy them into the required directory?

Thanks, and good work

The PhoCo prices are not an issue with the XLE version, we take the cost... Due to the special version that works with Centrafuse, you will have to use the included version...

As for the maps it is unknown... I am working to allow the current test maps and navigation to be included with all versions, but not sure if Destinator will allow it....

Hi David

Great to see the prices on the site.

How much will the coupon you mentioned be worth?

Any idea of when you will be issuing it?

And finally when do you expect to know if Destinator will allow the maps to be used on all versions?

Hi,

i agree, that the price for the SE dedition is quite reasonable, but the pricing for the edition with gps-support is ridiculous.

It is 200 $ more expensive than the version without gps - thats far too much.

Over here in europe (and David can check this out from Cebit) a standalone gps from Garmin (Streetpilot 510 deluxe) including complete maps for europe sells for approx. 180 Eur.

So .. i can save the money for the gps edition and .. can buy a Garmin ... for the same price, offering me all the maps, and a device i can also use for biking oder walking.

We make no extra money with the XLE version from the SE version, it's all cost we pay to Destinator...

As we increase our volume the prices can hopefully come down, as well as you can purchase during the initial month with the discount code...

You can also use your own navigation solution such as MapPoint or iGuidance...

David,

Do you think you could open a separate thread with details on pricing and Beta tester discount? In particular would be nice to know:

1) Discount amount
2) Who qualifies
3) until when discount is valid
4) When current Beta will expire.

I suggest you lock that thread to avoid boring and extensive discussion on pricing too. Thank you!

2nd'd... though I can appreciate the want for these kind of details to remain out of the public eye. Depending on how David draws the line for "who qualifies", I would suspect that there could be some backlash.

What about someone who found a bug just in the last week but only has one post on the forum? It could be argued that he beta'd.

What about the people that have been downloading for the last year, but never posted? That's probably NOT a valid beta tester since they never shared their experiences...

Then there's me... Someone who David would probably rather not have using the release product!

Locking the thread will only cause another thread to be created if someone really wants to be heard. Might as well leave it open, it's a better political move.

Hi.
I understand that Destinator are "setting" the price on the GPS version, however (this is the odd part) their own resellers sell D6 + North America maps for $124.95... how come they want $200 for the same product? (different platform though).

Another question - your website says that maps are included in the GPS version - which maps?

Thanks for the great work.
