stuck building controls

My CF all of a sudden started acting up. Whenever I start it it hangs while trying to "Build controls". How do I collect a log that would be useful to you to diagnose the issue?

Thanks!

Mark

The log is located in "LocalAppData\Centrafuse\error.log"

I would find this file, delete it, then load Centrafuse, then post the new file so it only contains the error we are trying to fix...

You might try removing your plugins by moving the folders out of the ProgramFiles\FluxMedia\Centrafuse\Plugins folder, then if it loads add them back one at a time and see if it is a plugin causing the issue...

no luck

Sorry for such long delay...

Unfortunately, it's still not working for me.
I deleted the error file, but it does not look like CF is creating a new file (and I accidentally wiped the file so I don't have the old error file, stupid me). Also, I went ahead and removed all plugins and it still freezes on the same spot. Once it does only hard power off works.

I tried runnin the install in "Repair" mode but that did not help either.

Let me know what else I can try,

Thanks!

Very strange it would not load after plugins removed and not create an error.log file...

You might uninstall, manually delete the folder, and reinstall... You can backup System\*.xml and restore your settings as well as the main.dat file for your database if neccesary...

If that locks up then one of those files caused the issue and I would do it again and set everything back up...

Still no luck...

Again, sorry for long silence - was super busy...
So I tried a complete uninstall and reinstall - no luck.

I had a little bit of time while I was waiting for my friends today so I attached a debugger. Unfortunately, I did no have managed extensions installed so I could not look at locals, etc. But attached is a call stack and some bits and pieces of the problem area. Let me know if you have any requests.

Hit send too fast...

Looks like the Camera is upset, I will try to play with this a little bit later today and post more details.

first thing is remove all plugins, then add them back to track down which one might be causing the issue...

More info

David,

Thanks for the quick reply. My apologies, I neglected to mention that I did the plugin trick and it did not reveal anything interesting, after which I did a reinstall without much luck.

I delete the CAM plugin and ran the thing under a debugger again and got another problem:
Quote:
DLL 'c:\Program Files\Flux Media\Centrafuse\Microsoft.DirectX. AudioVideoPlayback.dll' is attempting managed execution inside OS Loader lock.

It is described in numerous places online (such as http://www.gamedev.net/community/for...opic_id=362799)

It appears to be a side effect of running under debugger. But I will try to uninstall .Net 2.0 and/or install the new DX SDK redist.

Attached is the latest debug log, if you are curious. I will investigate a little more shortly.
