Problem Connecting to ELM 327

Let me start by saying, I just switched to Centrafuse and I love it. It does pretty much everything I've ever wanted in a front end, and is incredibly stable.

Okay, on to the bug report. I recently purchased an OBDII Elm-327 scanner off ebay. This unit was mentioned in another thread, mostly in regards to its low price:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Elm32...3756.m20.l1116

I installed it today, and it works great with Scantool 1.13. Synchs great, updates quickly, no problems. It did not however work with the OBDII plugin for Centrafuse.

I have a normal version of XP(SP2) installed and updated. The OBDII scanner is using COM port 4, 9600 baud. My GPS receiver is using COM port 3. Again, no problems using scantool, and it connects in Centrafuse giving me the green light, but displays no data. I have not yet tried disabling all the values except speed, but that's next. In any case, here's my error log.

Any help would be appreciated. If this fix is coming in a future update, I'll happily wait. I may embed scantool in the meantime. Thanks for taking a look.

what version of Centrafuse are you running? There might be a newer OBDII version in the 1.47 update, this is newer than the download page...

also try the different ELM settings in OBDII setup, or device types I mean...

I did update to 1.47, so that's not it. Also, I tried switching it to the other types of OBDII devices. 323 at least also shows that it connects, but still no data. I don't think the other ones connect at all, but I'd have to test again to give you the point by point breakdown.

The wife has the car tomorrow, so the earliest I'll be able to test it will be tomorrow night.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly David. One more reason I went with Centrafuse!

there is a log feature in OBDII settings, turn this on, let it run, and post the log... it is in the local application data folder under Centrafuse...

Is that different than the log I posted in my original post in this thread? That was the log in the OBDII folder.

Thumbs up

I got it working. Just like it was suggested in the other thread about OBDII scanners and Centrafuse, I disabled all the fields except for speed and restarted the computer. Worked like a charm. I went back and re-enabled them one by one, and most of them work. The ones that don't work include fuel system pressure, OBDII type, and a couple others. If anyone is interested, I could compile a list. FYI, I have a late model Subaru Legacy.

I'm happy with the fields that do work, and the update rate. Nice job on the plugin, and thanks for the support.
