Centrafuse 2.0 RC1 lags behind alot

I tried the 2.0 RC1 for a few days and like all the new features and what not but I simply cannot use it. once every 7 min or so it will be VERY slow to respond, u press something on screen and... 60 seconds later it responds but does so slowly as well. Showing the transitions between screens in slow motion and the music is skipping along at half the speed. I have XP SP2 on a VIA VB7001 with 512MB ram and a 250GB HD partitioned into 4 with xp on fastest partition. After about 5-10 min of the slow response it returns to normal. then it happens again 5-7 min later. All i was doing is listening to music, no nav running, but phone was in background. I tried turning the "enhanced graphics" off as well but did not make a difference.

Thanks in advance for your help, if you get this working I will be using 2.0 but as of now, I will give up the sweet phone features and stuff for now. PS where does centrafuse store the log files?

edit: I was listening to mp3 music not wma

the logs are currently in the LocalAppData\Centrafuse folder...

this will be much easier to post in the next release from Settings...

try to disable phone to see if that is causing the issues...

When I had RC1 running I noticed the same thing and did not have anything running (NAV / phone). I have an AMD 3600+, 4GB RAM, and a 160GB SATA HD.

so its not a matter of hardware, its a memory leak or something similar. K, so I uninstalled 1.48 and installed the 2.0 and maps. I disabled phone and and all seems good so far (half hour) with no issues and the cpu usage dropped to 40% and ram usage is now 75mb of 512mb when playing mp3s. So what is up with the phone proggy, does it keep searching for a phone or something even though it is connected? Just to be sure I re-enabled the phone and sure enough, all hell broke loose... or didn't go anywhere actually...

Do you have Smooth title Scrolling? If so turn it off, it is causing a lot of CPU usage...

smooth scroll is off the only change I made was disabling the phone (shame, I love that proggy

). Any idea when it will be "official"; a month or so? Also, I tried the vcard importer and it did not seem to work, I exported my vcard to the pc from my moto q and used the importer to find it, clicked ok. I went to contacts and there was nothing there. does the proggy support photos for contacts? That would be amazing! It

enough as it is, caller ID on screen and plays my ringtone etc...

edit: should I enable phone and use it for a while and post the log?

K, well i tried the phone out a little more and the software works quite well but the phone software is the majority of the lag. It does lag however when watching videos as well. I did not have any of these problems in the previous version, all was smooth. Could it be the .NET 2.0?

OK well I spent some time out in the car today messing with things and trial and error

1. I tried to re-create the problem (find what triggers it) and it is either changing through too many song (skipping them) or changing between to many screens.

2. I turned many features on and off to see if they affected things at all

3. The only thing that was causing any noticeable problems was when cross-fade was turned on, with it off, all seems normal.

4. When I resume from Hibernate or start centrafuse 2.0, the proggy searches for my phone and while it is doing so, centrafuse is frozen until it finds my phone.

5. Vcard importer still doing nothing for me.

6. Speech does not work after phone call till you play, then pause, then play music again.

im getting the lag and even a bluetooth driver error. the message says it has to do with license of the driver and limited the use of the driver to 5MB. Im sure its phone related. However, it didnt take anything to get my razr to work! Hope the bugs get worked out, I sure wont mind spending the money on this once things settle down.

Is there a reason mappoint plugin doesnt work with 2.0?

MapPoint should work, but the installer will not... if you can get the files out it will work, and we do plan to update the installers...

Should not be happening, the connection is happening in a user thread, unless the stack is actually having an issue connecting to your phone and the connect call is hanging or something, when pc is in this state, can u bring up the windows process list and see if it is centrafuse.exe hogging cpu? Or is it one of the bluesoleil applications?

5. Put bug into bug daabase. Can u post me a sample vcf file with no personal info, one that is not working for you, and I can reproduce here...

I notice you are running a Via. I am running a Via M10k and the lag occurs when playing wma files, so I dont suppose you were playing a wma when this happened?

no wma, all mp3. I cannot use pc at the moment as my TS took a crap and i ordered new touch panel from mp3car.com's store ($40) and my HD controller on the HD took a crap too... so I am RMAing that, it could have been prob, but i doubt it, the HD is fine, just the controller was intermittent. So when I get all that going i will be sure to post info.

It was deffinetly the crossfade function that lagged everything behind for a few minutes.
