cd player not playing

CD player ..

I have a CD-ROM mounted in my dash for playing cd's .. connected via Fire-wire .. ripping works great, however if I try and play the cd it won't.. it reads the tracks.. and loads them up .. it won't play it.. it sees the length of the track.. but it never starts "0:01, 0:02 ...." .. ect ..

it plays fine via windows media player.. I'm not using the cd audio line.. just data

but again, great software..

Does Cf use media player or winamp?

eDIT: jsut did a quick and it would appear to use directsound not a mediaplayer like some of the other apps. Maybe it is in your general device settings somewhere. I am sure some CF expert will notice this thread soon if i keep making crappy suggestions and keep it at the top of the recent threads list!

I haven't ever experienced this problem and I also play CD's regularly. Does it do it with all your CD's? Try to disable AutoPlay CD, load a CD in the drive, go into music manager and click Play CD. This will take a second because it will check to see if you have an internet connection and if so it will get the CDDB track/artist/album information. Otherwise it will just label them Track1, Track2, etc... Then it should start playing your track. Which OS are you using? I actually use WMI to play CD's.

I have exactly the same problem. It plays in mediaplayer but not in centrafuse. This is on XP and the CD is connected via IDE.
