Yeah, I have to say, CF is awesome, but I also do think that David needs to concentrate on squashing bugs and stop adding new features at all cost (I am one of those who hs requested new features, but that doesn't mean I want/need them now).

Truth be said, at this rate, I am starting to think we will not see a stable usable version of CF for quite some time. I hope David proves me wrong for sure. My guess is that v 1.6 will have fixed some bugs, but also introduced new features and new bugs.

I understand this is BETA software, but I would have chosen to release a CF 1.5 Final version with less features and close to zero bugs. I'll wait for 1.6 and see how usable it is, but if it has too many problems I will stop beta testing it and move on to RR while everyone else suffers the beta-testing stages for the next 12 months

EDIT: Oh, and before anyone *****es at me, I have busted my *** beta testing this thing, making good suggestions, and creating skins/enhancements, so yes I have put more than my 2c worth. I'm just saying CF is not proving to be very usable for day-today use in these beta stages...

I've had the same thing happen. What I do now is, when that happens, open the weather plugin, CF will check your connection and then the browser should work.

I will not be adding any more major features to the base application, only fixing bugs and optimizing... This latest release was a large release... The first codebase that ran from the new SDK... I should be able to release 1.6 sooner than later, which will just have bug fixes, tweaks... no new features...

From this point forward all new features will be in the form of plugins, which will have to be BETA tested within themselves, but will generally makes things much better.. bad plugins can simply be removed... This will also help with skins/language files... Since the base will stabilize and stop changing, skins/language files will only have to be made/updated for plugins...

thanks for all the BETA testing!!

david

Ok I feel like a retard here, I just had to reload windows on my carputer. I installed 1.5 just like I did before I reloaded, I add my music folder and it asks me if I want to import the music just like normal. Well it goes through all the music and then it comes up saying 0 songs imported. It worked just fine before I reloaded and I am not sure what is causing it this time. I also tried just using one album as a music path instead of all my albums still 0 files imported. I also tried reloading windows again to be sure. Any other ideas?

edit: oh yeah and these are all mp3 files, it never had a problem with them in 1.4

check for a file called "error.log" in the centrafuse install directory...

ok this is extremely strange, I finally got fed up with it and just installed frodoplayer, installed the computer in the car, been driving it all week. I got bored sitting in traffic last night and decided to try building the library again, and of course it worked perfectly.

I have a problem... when I first loaded cf my music & video files were on a drive labeled as E:..... I built the library.... took forever with 500 gigs... then tagged a whole bunch as favorites & playlists.....

a week later I get around to installing my slot load dvd.... this makes my former E: drive now become my F: drive.... I didn't bother to re map the drive back to E:, I changed the paths & rebuilt the library but after that my playlists & favorites no longer worked... I spent some time re setting some up...

now, a week later all of a sudden cf doesn't play... all my songs are there(or is it the previous saved library that I'm seeing?) but none will play... when I check the music path it is now back to E:!!!

I just now changed the paths back to F: & am rebuilding the library again as I type.... I'm hoping since the playlists were built from F: they'll still work .....I'll know soon enough...

my question is is there any dependancy of any of the settings that are associated with the skins... I think this problem happened after reloading an earlier skin back into cf.... (perhaps the skin that I used to originally set the path to E:?)

I'm really doubting this is possible, probably just a coincidence... I didn't see any entrys for it in the skin xml's

is there a way to save playlists that won't be lost.... if I add another hardrive could I run into this again?

any idea about this???

the playlists are simply a list of filepaths... if the filepaths are valid, they will work... manually open the .mpl files in the playlists directory and see what files they are pointing to and if they exist...

CD/DVD can eject

Anyone having the same prob? The Cd/Dvd drive cannot eject if it is empty. Even when loaded, it takes forever to eject, unlike 1.4

When connecting with my bluetooth setup CF will freeze while trying to connect for a good 1:30. 1.4 never really had any issue like this. I had a script running for 1.4 that would auto connect when windows loaded but now if I use that for 1.5 will stall at the load screen and get me for the minute and a half there.

On the Weather plugin I can only get the big current forecast the 3 day on the bottom is always empty not really a big deal just wondering if it is just me.

Quick playlist don't remain after hibernation it will keep 1 but the rest vanish.

Lots of freezing and general slowness when saving settings mostly. I also get some stuttering for ~5 seconds of so during music/video playback

I will post logs if it ever makes em.

Running it on 2 systems
Home machine - 3.4 P4 1Gig of ram XP Pro
Car system- Sempron 3200+ 512MB ram XP Pro

Blank screen after hibernate

Searched this thread but couldn't find this fault already.

If you set your PC to hibernate on a press of the power switch, then do this with CentraFuse running. The next time you start the system, you will get a blank screen and the only way to get out of it is to press one of the side buttons to change screen, then everything is redrawn and it works fine.

I have tried this with the startup screen set to Media, Home and Previous
